Thought this was pretty interesting.

Many people have paid into FICA for years and are now receiving a Social Security check every month -- and are now finding that they are getting taxed on 85% of the money they paid to the federal government to "put away," you may be interested in the following:

Q: Which party took Social Security from an independent fund and put it in the general fund so that Congress could spend it?
A: It was Lyndon Johnson and the Democratic-controlled House and Senate.

Q: Which party put a tax on Social Security?
A: The Democratic party.

Q: Which party increased the tax on Social Security?
A: The Democratic Party with Al Gore casting the deciding vote.

Q: Which party decided to give money to immigrants?
A: That's right, immigrants moved into this country and at 65 got SSI Social Security. The Democratic Party gave that to them although they never paid a dime into it.

Then, after doing all this, the Democrats turn around and tell you the Republicans want to take your Social Security.

The last time the Dems. looked out for the working man was in the 60s.

Are you sure it was in the 60s, it may have been before that even

Here's something of intrest along those same lines. Seems the state of Georgia is having a problem over their changing of the state flag. Weather or not you approve of the stars and bars is a mute point here.

The Democrates added an amendment on a bill that the Governor was pushing to allow the people of the state to vote on what flag they wanted. The amendment which made the state flag larger then the U.S. flag was intended to bring the bill back into the state house where they could sit on it until it died.

Here are some quotes from the article:

But white Democrats in urban areas, as well as all black Democrats, generally oppose the idea of a referendum. They fear that if the decision is left up to the public, the Confederate battle flag — sometimes called the "Southern Cross" — will once again be on Georgia's flag, as it was from 1956 until 2001.

"I am elated," said Democratic state Sen. Nadine Thomas. "Our strategy was to get amendments on the bill, get it back to the House and I'm certain that it's going to die."

I guess it's just not right for the people to have a say in what they want. By the way this article is on Foxnews.com.
