Denny Hamlin tells it like it is!

I'm late to the green flag on this one, but could someone provide some context for me? When did Denny say this, and under what circumstances?

We can only surmise what happened on the track. Denny complained about Austin 'crowding' him down to the apron. I guess Denny came up and door slammed him, then Austin bumped him after the race. IMO, Denny over reacted and ran Austin into the wall.

Denny really shouldn't be taking shots about privilige, because his parents spent $1 million promoting his early career, then he jumped right into a Cup ride.

That's roughly what an Olympic athlete's parents spend getting them to the highest level of competition. It would be interesting to ask Dave Blaney , Larry McReynolds or Randy LaJoie how much money they are going through (with the help of sponsors) .

Denny doesn't need to be smack talking about being privileged when he was a beneficiary himself.
I got to be honest though the more a driver has to sweat to get to cup the more I respect him. I can appreciate the fact that the Dillion boys didn't choose their lot in life anymore than a poor boy chooses his lot. But I do hope some wise parents or grandparents teaches one with those privileges that they still have to work for it, and they had better learn how to fight in a tough world.

That being said I have my doubts about them when they start using their cars like a cheap weapon on the cool down laps. The name can be Hamlin or Dillion, it doesn't matter. There should somebody at their respective respective shops to give them hell for their idocy. They made a statement that they don't respect the artist who hang those bodies and massage them to be as fast as possible.
They should be made to dig holes and fill them, haul hay in the sun, or to perform any other punitive labor that could be found. Somebody to work the literal punk out of the little punks. Many trash Menard for being a daddies rich boy, but I haven't seen him pulling those stunts.

Richard Petty is a great example. Lee's boy was Lee's boy, son of a three time champ. But he performed a lot of apprenticeship type roles long before getting to race himself. When his dad was seriously injured at Daytona, Richard was, already seasoned, ready to be the man at Petty enterprises. He was steel he didn't need Denny psychologys coach.

Well..... well... well... (run of things to say will finish later,,)

Y'all are dodging the elephant in the room. It would be -very- interesting if we could ask Dale Sr. how much it cost to get Jr. to the Busch level.

A hell of lot less than it takes to keep him to keep him there, I suspect.

Jr's only there because of his name and has had everything handed to him. ;)

I've never seen such a nice guy take so much sheet. He annoyed me when he seemed to lose drive, but he seems to be back on track. Other than that, he's always been a decent guy who refused to go the route his father did.

While na$car doesn't like bumping and banging after the checkers it happens, it's tolerated. However, in the past they have taken a very dim view of contact occurring on pitroad. I've yet to see a single word where Hamlin was talked to about it. Is na$car being consistent in their inconsistency?

Barely. The incidents nascar took exception to were in the areae where the pits are.

I didn't like what Denny did, but I also didn't see a need for nascar to call him to the hauler.

He just needs to bring the interiors decorators posterioria to the track more. I like Juniors ok, wish he was meaner, but that's not fair, he is own man and has to live on his own terms just as dad lived. That's something we all have to do.

Nascar fans aren't the most logical people in the world.

How did Jr get into this? Jr never complained about how Dillon got his ride.
The Blaneys, Lajoies, Menards, Pettys, and McReynolds weren't in the original topic either, but if we're going to talk about taking advantage of family connections then leaving Dale Jr. out is skipping over one of the more successful legacy drivers.

Let the record clearly show that I did NOT say that. Junior certainly didn't get where he is strictly because of who he is, but does help keep him there.

Junior has one big advantage: his last name. He also has one big disadvantage: his last name.

I wasn't going to say this , because I know it will provoke a reaction from the Senior fans , but heck I'll say it anyway. Father Of The Year , he was not . Junior made his way in spite of his father . Just my opinion . Sorry.

Man, I was a huge fan of his but I sure can't profess to have the knowledge that others do of his parenting techniques. :(

It's kinda like basing the opinion of his racing on selective YouTube clips rather than to have been around to actually see someone in action. Only in this case, there are no clips.

Cue Andy.

I watched him race, bumped into him at motels and restaurants like we did all of the drivers back then but it didnt cross my mind to think of his "PRIVATE" life other than to mention hunting and fishing. He was a helluva race car driver and that was what I thought about, not whether he spoiled his kids or not.

Fantastic driver , hunter and fisherman, but his kids were raised by their mothers while he did the racin ,huntin , and fishin. Far from spoiling them , he let them make their own way . The others raced too without any help . He came around and got behind Junior ,when Junior started having some success. Just my opinion from reading his biography , and listening to interviews ,etc. . Noone really knows peoples private lives.

In my opinion its pure speculation by the writers to sell books and articles, but as you say no one knows for sure and I for one dont give a rats ass about his home life, just how he raced.

I can't find them. When told what Denny said, Austin smiled and said "Those are good comments for him, if he want's to think like that. I'll take the high road".

Denny way over reacted to a little rub from Dillon. There was no need to run him into the wall, even though there was no reason for Dillon to be mad in the first place. There was so much wrong with all of that.

Denny didn't make Dillon loose, the car on the outside did. Dillon being mad and Denny. Denny running him hard into the wall. Everyone in the RCR clan confronting Denny, except Austin. Denny's comments. The whole thing was like a bunch of children throwing tantrums over nothing at all.
I hadn't heard Austin's reaction to Denny. I watched the race and never saw what started all of this in the first place. I didn't think that the camera caught any of it other than what happened after the checkered.

I think race hub had all the video, it just wasn't shown during or after the race. Austin was under Scott (I think) when Denny went to the apron and passed them both. There was 3 feet between Denny and Austin, but Scott came down and got Austin loose, who then lost a few spots. IMO, Austins displeasure was misplaced, but all he did was crowd Denny a little entering pit road. The slight contact was totally avoidable if Denny had simply turned slightly and let up. Instead, he wrecks the car. 2 dummies at work.
