I was at Del Worshams trailer working when it happened and I could here it from our pit. A couple of my teammates were at the top end and seen the crash and they also felt a Hans might have saved him.:(

Sad. My thoughts with the family, friends, and fellow racers affected.

It's time for the HANS/R3 to be required based on MPH instead of ET.

The super classes have proved that ET means nothing when you're going 9.90 at 160+ and 8.90 at 175+. I heard that some guys with 800 cube motors are coming off the stop at the 330 and beyond and going 150+. Even we're only going 7.flats at 138 to the thousand foot without a stop. Some of the S/G and S/C cars are just T/S and T/D cars that cant make the field, so they throw a stop on them, it seems.

A bracket racer here has the R3 with the sliding neck option and she likes it alot. She went turtle without one and didn't climb back in a car without it.
