I need to process them- they'll be up in a minute. My camera doesn't like darkness.

Also, the lense had a fingerprint on it..thats why some of the pics arent clear. I hadn't noticed it.

Andy, you can't gaulk over the ESPN or Speed girls. Although the speed girls do their job well. Hence i didnt have time to take pictures of them (but one was on TV for th drawing)..I seemed too distacted...mostly when they were throwing things to people on the other side of the stage ;)

Nice pics Mag. As soon as I get mine unloaded from my camera, I'll post a link to mine. We just got home from the track about 45 minutes ago. :D

What kind of camera do you have?
Canon Powershot A610. I've only taken nearly 9000 pictures it, wouldnt be surprised the telephoto sensor has worn out.

I can shoot in the light at F8.0 and shutter 1/1600 (what i used for raceday, part of the pit road, and start of race). But in the shadows the best I could do was F4.5 and 1/400 shutter (part of pits, and shadowey track). In the total dark (last half of race), I was shooting 1/300 shutter and F3.5. All at ISO400. And in anything but bright light, the images are grainy.

The dark images, I turned the levels from a 255 white balance to a 128, then did a 25% reduction (4:1 pixel ratio). That took the grain out.

compare orig to mod:

Looks like a dslr might be in your future. I love my Canon 40d
