William Durant was an amazing guy. He founded GM and took on Ford. In 1910, just as he surpassed Ford in sales, he gets pushed out of the company he founded. The next year, he partners with Swedish racer Louis Chevrolet and starts up Chevrolet, using the name of the very popular driver. In 1916, he buys GM back.

I hade no idea Chevy owned GM back then. I always thought it was always the other way around. That's an awesome resume for Durant.
