I can't believe there's not a thread here for that race in Irwindale last night.

I'm sure glad I taped everything else and went to that race. :growl:
I was one of the most exciting races I have EVER seen. I've watched the taped version of it this morning and I can tell you as exciting as that was there was MUCH more going on all over the track. I can hardly talk this morning my throat is sore from holloring so much. :D

I'll write more later, gotta go get some coffee right now though.

I watched it, and LOVED it. Too bad Kerry got taken out, but I really wish I had been there with you and DL to see it live!

That last big one was right in front of us!!!! Soooooo, close, it was scary!!!!!
Kerry and one of the other cars were airborn right in our faces!!!
Back in turn 4 there was still a car in the grass that didn't make it to the start/finish; we glanced down there and that car was practically engulfed in flames!!!!! The track safety guys were "running" to his aid with extinguishers!!!! Sure glad that track is so small, they didn't have far to go. They got the fire out right away and the driver was assisted out and was walking under his own power, thank God!!!!
If you saw the most animated "flagman" in NASCAR, ( LOL ) we were just a mite toward turn 4 from that stand! If maybe you caught sight of a large, older man wearing the old Jeff Gordon rainbow Jacket and sweatshirt with a cap to match; we were right below him. LOL
We met "Wenchy" and her hubby and Big M before the race. Chatted in the parking lot for nearly an hour by my car waiting for the gates to open.
We did indulge in a "funnel cake" after we went in and got our seats. LOL

I caught the first one between the four regional series....but, except for the final 10 laps, missed the second one between the two touring divisions.

The Midwest series boys didn't do as good this year as they did last year at Irwindale. I thought Justin Dierks would have a better showing since he kicked butt this year in the midwest division.

Lotsa folks were surprised that he SW, and NW teams didn't fare as well as they expected. Don't know why. The track might have been colder and maybe even a wee bit dampish. All the cars in the parking lot were WET with all the moisture in the air there. Don't know if that had anything to do with the price of eggs, though. LOL
It was sure an exciting race!!!!! Not one I'd like to see a repeat of. I don't care for all the wrecking, myself. Just love to see good racin!!!!!
