Did NBC even show the 48 crew kissing the bricks? Isn't that part of the tradition? NBC really sucks at this racing thing.

Also, there was no coverage on what happened on the last lap. What the hell is that about?

they showed it.

there was 2 clips after it happaned, and then one more of robby and biff druing the ending when they are showing some high lights and playing some music.

Sorry. I wanted to say that they did not interview anyone involved in any of it.

they were in a time crunch, and i believe raines was the only one able to get back to pit road (maybe robby did too)

The coverage provided by NBC (Nothing But Commercials) was terrible. I've never seem so many mis-placed commercial breaks in my life and it made it difficult to get into the flow of the action. To make the problem even more painful, I watch all the races via delay on AFN (Armed Forces Network) in Italy and the commercials are not really commercials but local military informational segments that are replayed over and over.

When does FOX return? Listening to DW start the race is worth seeing superior coverage.

one would think that the armed forces should just get it commercial free.

I like fox better as well. At least DW, Hammand and larry talk about stuff that is part of the race. I also think the cut away car is pretty cool in explaining what and why the teams do certain things to the cars.

You'd think, but then again when has Nascar ever been free?

The Armed Forces Network does get the feeds for NASCAR and other prime time sports free. Commercials are cut and local area informational spots are injected where you would see the regular commercials.

It has benefits and draw backs. Tonight, Saturday 26 Aug, the Bristol Race is live starting at 0130 in the morning with no Sunday replay. I do get the Truck and Busch race replay on Sunday at a better time.

We also get the Superbowl minus the commercials. Some years when the game is boring, the commercials would make watching it worthwhile. Usually, the day after the world series and superbowl are days off or late reporting to work due to the events being in the wee hours.

I'm not really complaining, AFN has improved every time I have gotten a new assignment to a new overseas location. The first time I was overseas I just has one channel, now we have 8. If you live off base you can easily get a SAT Dish system.
