Hi did nascar say anything about the comments dale jr. made last weekend about caution flags.

Cause when tony stewart made similar comments after the spring phoenix race last year the next week at talladega nascar did not allow stewart on the track until stewart met with them and i think nascar and stewart had a long conversation cause stewart missed maybe 15 or 20 minutes or more of practice.

I was just curious if nascar said anything or if there was any reaction by nascar to jr's. comments.

What were Jr's comments, I missed 'em.

Jr just made the comment that he knew the M'ville race wouldn't have gone green to end because NASCAR would have thrown a caution to bunch the field. No biggie.

That is a stupid question. He could stand buck naked on TV and fondle Carl Edwards and they wouldn't say anything because they don't want to do anything unpopular

And, it was only (unless I'm wrong, I didn't see it), it was only one simple statement, not a long, well spoken rant both immidiately after the race, as well as on a national radion show. Tony broght up what everyone was saying, said it very well, and made Nascar look stupid. Have you noticed there haven't been nearly as many mystery cautions as there were before the Tony incident?

Dale Jr. say something wrong? You must have him confused with Tony Stewart or someone. He's the one that gets in trouble for saying things, not Golden Boy. LOL Heck, they'd have the fans throwing beer cans at the officials if they did that. heh heh ;)

Agreed.

They both had a point though. It seems like every time a race is getting interesting with fuel strategy and with a good race for the lead brewing, a caution flag comes out and ruins the whole race.

And it's usually because of the 55 car.

Really?
Never got fined and docked points after his win inTalladega a few back I guess.

If I recall, those were racing/car infractions, not because he spoke up about something being wrong. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I watched one of those features on Smoke and Jimmie Johnson was saying if they find something they don't like or think is wrong, "they" put a bug in Tony's ear so he'll speak up for the rest of them. hmmmmm....

That's because Stewart and Harvick are the only ones with the balls to speak up and stand up to Brian France and NA$CAR.;)

The only difference is Harvick puts it PC and nicely so it doesn't piss off NASCAR whereas Smoke says it like it is not caring who it pisses off.

IIRC he got a 10k fine for saying "chit" in a interview after a win in victory lane.

Yeap that is what he said and it wasn't in a bad way either. Guess it just hit Nascar wrong.

I think it was a really bad knee-jerk reaction by Nascar in the face of FCC fines that had been increasing. Think they just wanted to show the FCC that they're in control.

I forgot about that one. Yeah, all the networks are being super careful because Janet Jackson and her boobage. LOL Thanks a lot Janet! :sarcasm:

Then they should insist that the tv/radio broadcasts be on a 7 second delay instead of penalizing drivers who get asked asisnine questions by bubble heads a minute after crawling out of a race car after driving 500 laps.

If you but/rent a scanner you should be adult enough to realize you just might hear some bad words, if you can't handle it don't buy/rent a scanner.
Wusses.

If I remember, Nascar started a 7 second delay the following week for all their races. Don't know if it's still in place though.

Guys, that was during The 14th Allstate 400 at the Brickyard. That race was on cable on ESPN, remember?

Remember the incident that had happened earlier? Kyle Petty yelled, "What the **** was that?" TNT aired that not only on replay on delay - but someone was asleep at the mute button.

They penalized Tony for the same reason they penalized Junyer a few years back and that was because there was no reason for it to be said. Remember, Smoke was interviewed by ESPN but it was aired over IMS Radio for all the fans in the stands as well and that's why Tony felt it needed to be said.

Andy, your post

If I read it correctly you're referring to the Indy 400 and a remark made by Jr in victory lane. He hasn't won Indy,,yet.
Kyles **** was beeped out on the replays, but anyone with an ounce of brains knew what he said.

"They penalized Tony for the same reason they penalized Junyer a few years back and that was because there was no reason for it to be said."

No reason for it to be said..hmmm. Obviously you haven't been the recipient of a bone head move that endangered you and tore your race car up. I'm so glad we didn't have radios, you would have had your brains leaking out of your ears listening to me. :beerbang: Your a reporter of sorts? You go into the pits? Do your ARCA drivers say please and thank you?

WHY24fan,,whatcha got against boobs? :D

Talladega, 2004, NBC.

:bsflag:

And I've got the video to prove it. :D

Junyer won at Talladega in 2004 in the EA Sports 500. They mentioned it was his fifth win at Talladega. Junyer replied, in victory lane, "that don't mean ****, daddy won here 10 times."

And again, I have the video to prove it. ;)

Oh, Stewart's remark at Indianapolis was in, you guessed it, victory lane. ;)

Do your ARCA drivers say please and thank you?

Listen to my interviews from New Jersey. They're on www.racingforthewin.com/news/arca

But I guess someone with your infinite knowledge already knew what was said without having to listen to anything. In fact, I am overwhelmed by your superior intelligence. It is obvious that you need no facts nor need to research anything because you already know everything about everything. I bow to your supremacy.

Drivers in the sportsman ranks have mouths that would make sailors and Marines blush. I can take it, believe me. In fact, I think we had to pass up on posting one interview entirely on ECDN after a pro-mod racer flipped his car. :D Every other word out of his mouth was four letters and started with an f. :XXROFL:

Andy,
Go back and read your post, #18. You give the impression the comments came from the Indy race.
No reason to get snippy, skippy:D

I'm sorry. After reading your posts throughout this board, I thought I was talking to someone who knew everything one could know about racing. It appears I got the wrong impression.

Please forgive me.

Andy, you're being rude again.

I apologize in advance for this: Just one of the many services I offer. :XXROFL:

Sorry ma'am. Couldn't resist that one. :p It won't happen again. :D

And you did say the Indy 400 --- but you didn't make yourself clear about who you were talking about.

Remember folks, "Reply w/ Quote" is your friend.;)

After I mentioned Tony Stewart, a reply was posted saying "IIRC, he was fined $10k" :)

I report, you decide. ;)

For the record, NASCAR fined Shane Hmiel and deducted points in 2005 when he flipped Dale Jarrett off in the Busch Series Bristol Monday Classic (for lack of a better term) that aired on cable network FX. They've penalized others as well for their slips of the tounge. And the penalties got harsher every time... until NASCAR said "show emotion." Then the penalties continued for showing emotion.
