Did Nascar take down nascarnomics.com?

Now it's racingnomics.com and he's deleted all his charts, data, and analysis on Nascar, TV ratings, and all sorts of other really cool stuff that was on that site. Looks like he's been forced to delete basically everything about Nascar. That sucks. It was the best source of objective data on Nascar I ever found on the web.

I'm a little confused too, because the networks report TV ratings, not NASCAR. The ratings can be accessed easily enough through other sources.

It probably came down to a technicality like not being an authorized publisher of Nielsen data or something like that. I can just as easily find ratings data on Jayski, but Jayski is also owned by ESPN so it most likely has the right to publish such information.

Doesn't even matter if NASCAR has a real legal right to take down the information, the guy running the site might of just got scared from getting a C&D letter in the mail from a real law firm (aka chilling effects). Seen it before in my professional life, unfortunately.

NASCAR might have better off hiring the guy, he seems to be pretty good with data. Instead, NASCAR looks like they have a thin skin.
