about the RULES? What about 1/2 of the trucks not even attempting to race till the last 15 laps or so? I think it shows the existing rules to be lacking somewhere. To be in front at the end the trucks (cars) should have to race for the entire race.. Not just sunday driving around for 80% of the laps.
READ this nascar and think about it.

And then right off there goes little E to the back of the pack... we all know he does not have to be back there.. It is the rules package that is causing this. We all want little E to be up front where he belongs. With the correct rules package he would not be able to count on his sunday drive getting him to the front with only a few laps left.

Gee Betsy, looks like you're just talking to yourself.

For as long as I've been watching restrictor plate racing I've seen guys doing the samething. Why is it that it's just now something for you to bitch about, run out of relevant things?

I have seen a little of it too. Just not as pronounced as last evening or today. In the past when a car lost the draft it was up the creek. (waaaay past)
I have seen some cars get to the back of the first pack and lounge around there. But the whole 2ed pack 1/2 way around the track, and bragging about it on the radio? My poor memory cannot recall that hapening.

Actually, I think this is a good gripe, though as Eagle said, they've been doing this since the beginning of the plate racing. Never did care for it, but I know that my old fav Bill Elliott did it all the time, and it was for safety sake. The big draw back is in the strategy of it. If the racing goes green long enough, it can work against the driver who does this, but as long as he never goes a lap down, he is sure to find at least one caution during the later parts of the race that he can move up. However, as we have all seen, some of the worst crashes occur during the later stages of the race and that's when the drivers are at their most aggressive selves.

Yes, it's aggravating, but it's also smart driving. Why get up in the eye of the storm if you don't have to. Nothing to be gained by beating and banging early, and everything to lose.

Hanging at the back as been around as long as I've been watching.
