I believe that the Busch cars have been running the same 12:1 compression engine as the Cup cars for a couple of years now. They run a 390 cfm instead of the 780 cfm carb that the Cup cars use.
The last I knew, the Busch cars were still running a 105" wheelbase instead of the 110" wheelbase of the Cup cars.
NASCAR made the change in engines and went to the radial tires for the Busch Series in order to make the switch from Busch to Cup less of a transition for the drivers and crewmembers.
I would not be surprized to see the two series combined in the not too distant future as the demand for more teams to race at more venues continues to grow.
The current lack of new sponsors may slow that move down for a bit, but I still see it coming.
