Digital Camera

Been looking at them for awhile, waiting for a good price and finally found one. A HP 620 for $129 when its normally around $200. So I went for it. Its allright, not the best by any mens but has many features. ONly 2.1 megapixles, which is fine for normal pictures but when zoomed in not the greatest. It also has x optical zoom and 4x digital zoom(which I like, do it over again I would have got more digital zoom), also a cool feature is the video, granted its only 30sec and no sound and low quality, its nice that it is there. So far so good, and you will probally be seeing many pics from it in the future. Was wondering what everyone else had?

I have been wanting one for awhile, but haven't broke down and bought one yet.
I look forward to seeing lots of pictures from you!

:salute:

We might be getting one too...been wanting one for a loooong time.

That's a decent price too, glad to see the prices on these things coming down into the atmosphere.

Most people do not need anything more than a 2 MP camera. Especially if your going to use it mostly for standard photos or online images.

I have a FinePix 2600 that I've had for a year now. Decent camera (more of a point and shoot) for the price. Comes with everything needed including recharger. I did buy another charger that works in the car and a larger media card. Camera was about $300 when I bought it but I'm sure they are cheaper now.

Before that, I purchased a Olympus Camedia C-3020 ($500 at that time in stores), higher MP (4.0) camera with tons of features but had problems with it. Got pissed and returned it.

I don't personally have a camera, but my parents do. It's great, especially since they made use of the memory expansion slot.

Have an HP 215 we bought when they first came out. Added a bigger card and with our new HP printer we can print right off the card or add images direct to the pc. Great little camera for snapshots, but just too slow for any action shots and the built-in flash is not sensitive enough. The thing just loves batteries as well, especially if we download from the camera to the pc or use the video screen at all.
For serious stuff I still use an old Nikon SLR with about three different lenses and a couple different flash attachments. Much faster than the digital and a lot more practical for working the track. I've got a local lab that gives me a discount on film processing, that helps a bunch when taking lots of shots on a race week-end.
When I hit the lottery, I would like one of the new professional Nikon Digitals with somewhere around a 600mm telephoto lens. When I hit the lottery....lol

I think they all love to eat batteries. I have a few sets of rechargables but when I go away for a weekend covering a truck event or such, I always bring along a cheap pack of generic batteries. Just in case.

I also use a SanDisk reader to transfer images from the camera to my PC or laptop. Can also use it to transfer data in the same fashion.

The novelty has already wore off ours,I think it's collecting dust in the computer desk drawer.

Highboy,

Our new printer will scan the memory cards, print from them or transfer the images to the computer. We still carry the little digital, along with a couple of sets of extra batteries, but the old Nikon is just a lot better for getting action shots.
I've been playing with the SLR camera a lot this winter, trying different shots making use of whatever available light there is, messing around with different lenses, lens and shutter settings, etc. Wasted quite a bit of film, but it's been quite a bit of fun and educational at the same time.
The trouble is that what started as just something to get some action shots at the track has been getting a little out of hand. Added some lenses, tripod, adapters, new and bigger camera bag, etc. etc.
One thing about it though; none of our cameras are sitting around collecting dust. We even still use our old point and shoot 35mm which has been around for years. Even that takes great snap-shots.

my christmas present to me was a digicam.
took me about 3 months of research before i finally chose.
now after some time with it i am pretty sure i made a nice choice.
my choice the Fuji Finepix 3800.
there are some pix here though the site reduces the pixel size as well as quality.
