AOL will be back in 2004: [#29, 30, 31] Owner Richard Childress says rumors that he will field only two Winston Cup cars next season are "absolutely not" true. There have been questions about the financial stability of AOL, the primary sponsor for Childress' #30 car [now Steve Park driving], but Childress says AOL is committed to honoring the final year of its contract, which ends after the 2004 season. "Not only will we have three full-time Cup teams and two Busch teams, we'll run seven or eight cars at some tracks next year," he says

:EEEEK:

I sure hope that includes the BGN and trucks as well as the cup cars!!!

What the...?? 7 or 8 cars? What is he smoking?
Apparently something pretty strong!

I am sure he means cup, busch and truck combined. He has 3 cup and I belive he has 3 busch cars. Don't know about trucks.

Did some checking. He only has two bush teams and no trucks. So with five teams don't know where he will come up with the other three teams at.

I figured he ment in the 3 series but I was wondering the same, Where would the other 3 cars come from?

It is getting harder for 1 car teams to be competitive and thus keep sponsors. Sponsorship money is drying up. NASCAR has to put cars on the track. So I look for more cars from the larger teams that can afford to spread the money around.

maybe he plans on running steve in some busch races since he is with the teams now. Maybe Richard is going to put Hornaday in a truck. Maybe Richard counted Harvick's truck team. maybe Richard forgot how to count...

I thought that Nascar said you can only have 4 or 5
I think they are limited to three? Not sure though. I know Mark Martin is listed as the owner of the #17 & Jack's wife is listed as owner on the #97. And Jack is listed as owner on the #6 & #99. (Geoff Smith is listed as the owner of the #16)

Don't you all see that there will be one team store of each make to buy cars? This is so true already,The teams that are one car teams buy there goods from one of the major teams. It's no differant than any other Busines. You buy one brand of Mustard, and find out that it was made by the same people who made the big brand.Maybe I should start being a broker of big team parts. ;) :D

hell, he has to field 8 cars to get a chance at winning a race  just kidding......
I guess Dale Sr was a master if it takes that many cars to put Richard even close to a victory, let alone a cup. ;)
