What a pity- they've had more consistent success in this division than any other.

They were discussing it during today's prerace show.

So no more Dodge trucks for the Races???? WOW. What a change. In 2010 Dodge and Nissan are partnering up to build trucks togather. I wonder if that has anything to do with it.

This article says no financial support to any teams. Which in effect has the same result, who will run a Dodge without some sort of factory support?

Bottom line ladies and gentlemen, it's all about the bottom line.

btw I didn't realize BHR was the only team getting support this year from Dodge.

"The struggles in the U.S. automobile sales market are trickling down to racing, with the latest blow coming to the Craftsman Truck Series. Dodge will not provide any financial support to any teams in the series in 2009, Dodge Motorsports senior manager Mike Delahanty said. "We'll have no factory-funded teams," Delahanty told ESPN.com. "When times are tough, there are certain things that are lower on the priority list than others." Dodge had been a powerhouse in the Truck Series earlier this decade, winning 46 of 99 races from 2001-04 and championships with drivers Bobby Hamilton in 2004 and Ted Musgrave in 2005. In recent years Dodge has scaled back its involvement, with only Bobby Hamilton Racing-Virginia receiving money from the manufacturer this season. Dodge informed the team that its factory support would end this season, and BHR-VA has talked to Chevrolet, Ford and Toyota about a switch for 2009. Delahanty said the manufacturer's involvement with the Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series is unaffected.(ESPN.com)"

I looked around at a few websites but couldn't find any hard info. It was while they were talking about Setzer's pole run and said that Bobby Jr. was sitting out this event to concentrate on the 18 team and that "when he comes back it won't be in a Dodge" since they were pulling factory support. Hopefully they were just talking about the one team, but I did find a story about how Chrysler was shutting down its St. Louis assembly plant and gave free tickets to the truck race to affected employees to "improve morale".
