Ok. So first, I need to tell any younger people in here that "yes, that is an MTV logo at the beginning of this video". At one point, this is what MTV showed on a regular basis. This is a really cheezy video, very typical for 1981, when it was made. But, what can you do?
This is the Michael Stanley Band. Believe it or not, Michael Stanley is still a pretty well known figure in the Cleveland area. He hosts a local radio show and does commercials for local car dealers. He was all that back in the 70's and early 80's. I never really liked the guy all that much, but his music wasn't really my speed. Just so you know, he isn't the guy singing lead in this video. He is the guy with the beard that stands in front of everybody else in the opening band shots. He is also the bearded guy who has a cigarette hanging out of his mouth (while he's working in the shop) that the singer walks by early on. He also appears randomly throughout the video.
They had a few other hits, but this was their biggest by far.
