the races anymore?.....I know there isn't too many things I'd rather be doin on a sunday afternoon.. :D

I love watching the races. I hate the plate races and looking around the FOX (sux) Trax!. I hate that stupid "doobly, doobly, doobly" sound FOX likes to project before they give the run down as well. Just show the cars and keep the bells and whistles to a minimum. That's all I ask.

I used to enjoy watching the races, but the races have been disappearing. What we're seeing is a manufactured enterainment event.

Just talked to my father, a NASCAR fan of 40 years and he can't believe what he saw today either.

I love watching fast cars in organized competition, that does not mean that I do not have strong opinions when something happens that I dislike or when someone competes that I feel is unworthy. If I was asked to watch without any emotion at all I wouldnt do it.

My mom and dad used to go to races at Bristol when they were dating. They passed their love of stock car racing on to my brother and myself. Most of our friends are race fans.

Today we were all disappointed by what we saw. My mom said she was done with the sport as of today( She'll come around though). My dad now calls it cashcar and my brother calls it Calvinball in honor of the game with made up rules played by Calvin and Hobbes.

Next week we were supposed to go to Martinsville, but no one wants to go now. I love racing and hate it when this makes me doubt the fairness of what happens on the track.

Its pretty easy to see. I like to watch REAL racing. Not some act by NASCAR to make more money.

then can i ask you a question?...why do you watch it and comment on it....if you dislike, why watch it?...not tryin to start somethin with ya, just curious?.. :)

Maybe because people liked it in the past? And have been holding out hope?

I kinda skipped over this thread. Like paul said, I'm holding out for hope. The racing is getting more boring then ever before. They move to tracks that have the crappest racing, but can seat a bunch of people (which=more money). They let certain drivers bend the rules. They don't want any drivers actually showing emotion. And heaven forbid a driver (namely Stewart, Harvick, Busch) actually shows emotion, they get fined or have to sit out a race. They want a bunch of little Jeff Gordon's running around saying how good NASCAR is and how exciting the racing is.

Its a load of crap and it pisses me off.

I love watching the racing! Even if it was single file all day i would still love it!
I knew the Big oen would happen and i took the fact that my guys could be taken out of the race, I was bummed to see it happen so early, but I think the amount of cars still on the track made teh racing today much better than if al 43 cars were still on the track at the end.

Bottom line... if ya dont like it, dont watch it!!!!

Congrats to Jr and Harvick on GREAT runs today!

How many of us remember when there were only 4 or 5 TV camaras at the track? They were in the middle of the track and in each shot you would have the first 25 or so cars in the picture... If the RACE was in the back or the middle of the pack that is what the camara would focus on all the way around the track... Those races are what made the fan base.. It seems that bumper, brake, front and rear camaras have replaced good old fashioned race camaras. If I wanted to look out of a car window I would go out and sit in MY CAR. These new camaras are good to see after an accident, but when 4 guys are fighting for the lead and the TV goes to the inside of one of the cars...well you all know the feeling. AND no, 210MPH is not too fast! I think they should RACE! Keeping the speed at 185 is more dangerous than letting them go.
