Does Jeff Gordon even care enough to win a championship anymore?

Of course not, that is why he chose to win a spring race instead of Homestead.:)

I can't believe anyone would even feel the need to ask this question. Not only does he want to...but he probably will unless Harvick can stop him.:D

Jeff does care

Jeff cares enough, not to win it.
Just check the numbers. More accumulated points without a title since the chases inceptions.... follow the time line, the duh huh is in the pudding

Last nights win was just a spite win, showing us he could and can, but the unchase unchampion will not at Homestead.

He cares and Gordon is giving it all. Sometimes circumstances just make you look bad and he has run enough races now that some bad luck is finally catching up to him. I remember a time when you could not beat them no matter what. I never ever count Gordon out. I know what he is capable of when everything is dialed in and the racing gods smile on him.

I know you can't win a championship in May but he's the best one out there right now. Only 1 win but has consistently been clicking off top 5s and 10s (disregard Talladega) drive for five is alive!

I think he can. The chase is littered with tracks that he has owned in the past or does good in.

Texas being the only evil one. And Talladega but that's a crapshoot.

He just cared too much in the past 13 years to give a damn about those tracks :(

Spite win. I like it.

Jeff's skills and determination have always been there. This year he has the team and cars that give him an opportunity to win. Hopefully he makes the final 4 and snags a win at Homestead.

FTR, I've watched every race Gordon has run since 1998 and out of all of those wins I don't think I've ever seen him more excited to win than he was on Saturday night at Kansas. That VL picture posted above says it all.

"I had a back spasm during qualifying at Charlotte Motor Speedway that reoccurred in practice this AM. Best to rest it today & be ready for 600 miles tomorrow."

Doesnt sound good for 600 miles :(

Exactly. Except it shouldn't have been unexpected. Getting old sucks
Well when you spend hours in strength therapy and it seems as though the pain issue had resolved itself and then grab a win just to be plagued my pain a few weeks later has to be unexpected.
