Tony doesn't have any speed this week. Unless Edwards has trouble the title is his.

Not true. I was watching practice and even though Carl was at the top of the speed charts, they're average times were very similar and I expect a battle on Sunday.

I hope so. My money is on Stewart.

Carl is the man to beat, and I wouldn't put it past Stewart to put him into the wall.

gotta say regardless of who wins (go tony!), they are certainly a different type of racer than jimmie.

C'mon, the dude admitted that he would wreck his own mother to win the championship. Do I think he'll wreck Carl if it means winning the Championship, yes I do.

Yep. I'm glad someone was paying attention. Tonight, we saw Carl try to wreck a guy for racing hard, and that was just to win a NW race. Now Tony knows where the line is. :D

Am I the only person that couldn't care less which of 'em win it?

I think, however, either of them will do what it takes...neither of them is known as exactly being "stand up" "ethical" types....

Yep.

Sorry Jeffy didn't make the cut if that is what you are not happy about. But Jeff "was" a great driver. I still like him, but he's pretty much done Championship wise.

I just can't believe that tomorrow's race signify an end to an era.

I think it’s going to be a clean race.

If I am wiping a guy out to win the points, the plan would have been to do it at Phoenix, with and the emphasis being that “we were just racing hard, man I hated it, ain’t it a shame”.

Their going be threatened with their life to stay in line tomorrow, the secret service may be on duty to enforce matters, and I am not speaking of guarding the first ladies.

If either crosses the line, the heat, rage, and backlash will be too incredible to face. It is just too tight of a package to manage in one day; forever the 2011 title would note “won it by taking Edwards or Stewart out in the closing laps. It won’t be the 1919 Black Sox, but still a tainted moment still the same

RACING HARD! That's been my point all along Greg. If their is contact while racing hard, or one guy uses the bump and run or the other guy blocks, how will the other guy react.

All it took for Carl to attempt a cheap shot last night was the RACE LEADER running 'his' line. Brad wasn't even blocking at that point. Instead of doing a crossover, Carl tried to bump him to the wall.

I really hope this ends with those 2 racing side by side in the closing laps. Tony wont put up with Carl's nonsense, and it could get ugly.

How about it has nothing to do with Gordon, instead my dislike for the two drivers who are up for it.....

But my point of my post is that I believe either of them will do ANYTHING to win it, my not caring was just a side note....

He probably won't "take him out" but I can definitely see him "move" Carl out of the way. We shall see in a little bit...

Plus, he knows if he does take him out Roush is gonna send another one of his cars after him.

I wouldn't be surprise if the other cars would either help, or hinder the two contenders. It should be an interesting race, that's for sure.

I would hope, for the sake of good competition, everyone treats these guys equally.

I think NASCAR is watching close enough that wont be an issue.....there's enough cameras on these guys they can't even pick their nose's.

It's called racing each other hard not helping or hindering :D

I really hope so too butt in my definetion of equal it means you race everyone has hard as you can no matter Who or What their running for....I hate it when a driver lays over for another "because he's in The Chase"
Race hard and clean!

True, But if Newman wrecks Edwards Nascar can't do anything to Stewart. Same if Biffle takes out Tony.

Well said. Now they need to work out what is clean or dirty, because it has to change from the gentlemans agreements of the past 6 years. They need to go back to the days of the door banging, bump and run, don't take sheet racing we used to see.

Tony seems ready, but Carl is Carl, so we may see if Carl only knows how to dish it out or can he take it without freaking out.

Assumptions are risky but....

As a Gordon fan, I assume you were good with Gordon's skillful use of the bump and run, earlier in his career.

If moving a guy is good for winning races or ok, I would think if the same race/conditions scenarios are working in the Miami finale, it's good or great too.

Disclaimer: I realize this is a limited scenario, as in a bump and run only.

Glad to see I called it correctly!

Did you notice during the race, well, during the rain delay, where Tony was calm and ****y, and Carl didn't want to be interviewed? Yup, Tony was in his head, and the 99 team was nervous.
