Top alcohol flatbottom driver Don Ermshar died Aug. 27 after being injured several weeks ago in a high speed crash.
The longtime Lucas Oil Drag Boat racer was injured in a horrendous crash at a race in Fort Worth, Texas. He was trapped 30 feet under the water of Marine Creek Lake for nearly 15 minutes inside an air-tight driver’s capsule. He underwent emergency surgery to repair a separated shoulder, arm and damaged artery in his brain.
Although he had been fighting a courageous battle, the injuries he sustained were too much to overcome.
