Dallas police have arrested a mother accused of trying to drown her children while high on PCP and marijuana.

Sonya Gardner, 35, was arrested and charged with two counts of attempted capital murder. The children were ages 6 and 4.

The six-year-old told police that her mother told her “we were fixing to die.”

The incident happened on Thursday night at an apartment in Oak Cliff, where earlier in the day Gardner admitted to smoking marijuana laced with PCP.

Gardner told police she was upset because the two children kept asking for snacks. Gardner at that point decided to drown her two kids and filled a bathtub with water.

Gardner had the two kids in the tub, but then her older son fired a gun in the air and kicked down the bathroom door. He grabbed the two kids and ran outside.

Gardner, before the attempted drowning, had also tried to burn the two children with an iron.

Dallas police are expected to release more information surrounding the incident this afternoon at a press conference, including where the children are now.

Gardner is currently being held at the Dallas County jail

nothing good can come from use of pcp, but

has a medical purpose, like for me, when i shut my eyes everything goes black.
i bet marijuana is gonna be lumped in a lot of other bad scenarios now that a couple states have legalized it.

Nothing is funny about drugs. The soon to be legalization of weed makes me sick.

I think the whole "medical" marijuana thing is a bunch of crap. Just an excuse for people to legally lower their IQ.

They're going to legalize the medicinal marijuana Charlotte's Web in the state of Florida for use by very young epileptic patients only. It will be brought in from Colorado and sold at Pharmacies only and controlled like any other restricted medicine. The bad news for the druggies screaming "yeah baby" is that you can't get high on it. It opens a can of worms but they put a rider on it so they can repeal it any time they want.
