Hornaday dominant to win Quaker Steak and Lube

May 18, 2007
11:06 PM EDT

type size: + -Ron Hornaday Jr. got a good restart with two laps to go Friday night and drove away from A.J. Allmendinger to win the Quaker Steak and Lube 200 at Lowe's Motor Speedway.

The victory was the first by a Chevrolet this season.

Hornaday, a two-time series champion, posted his 30th career Craftsman Truck Series race, but won for the first time at Lowe's.

Allmendinger finished a career-best second. Reigning series champion Todd Bodine finished third, followed by Mark Martin and Ted Musgrave.

Ron really stunk up the show. And the wind made it really chilly!
