You get the truck back yet or driving the Jeep? Not sure about driving around Nurburgring but if you want to get from my house to work today, you'd better have 4WD. Gonna be a fun commute.
Truck is delayed until next week. Driving the Jeep today. Lot's of fun. The snow is drifting many of the roads shut but not for everyone. You get the truck back yet or driving the Jeep?

I noticed roster tails from the rear wheels and a lot of feathering of the throttle so I think it's a 2WD. If the front tires were loosing traction the car would go straight and miss the corners (based on my 4WD experience in the snow). Snow tires (they call them winter tires now) on all four corners make a difference (I put 4 winter tires on my car for better control).
Yep, I remember putting snow tires on the rear wheels and they had a similar tread pattern as the mud & snow tires that came on my IH Scout. I found out that 45 degrees (average) is the temperature to switch between summer and winter tires. In the old days we would put 2 snow tires on the drive wheels, with today's tires you would lose control. The difference betwen winter and snow tires is the rubber compound. Winter tires have a softer compound and don't freeze up as much but wear out faster in warm weather.
Snow tires are just winter mud bogging tires.
You don't like that track?!? It's a piece of history!reminds me why i dislike that track. the weedeater formula ford motor doesnt help.
yes it is history, but I'd need a track map somewhere in the ****pit and/or one hell of a spotting crew... a lap is so long that you can't really remember them or your racing line..so basically every corner is new all race long. You don't like that track?!? It's a piece of history!

@Magnethead has problems remembering anything other than the straightaways.Track map would definitely be almost a necessity... But if you drive it enough, you can have a pretty good memory. There are windy roads in my area in similar lengths I know like the back of my hand.
I just love the classic tracks.. This one's raw and unforgiving. It features a little bit of everything. It's also to-this-day a place where builders go to measure the performance of cars.
