When you try and measure something and end up killing yourself.

Or when that glass is just too slippery.

Sometimes you gotta hold those tape measures in odd angles that may cause a break in the tape that you didn't notice.
And, sometimes, when reeling it back, a little nick in the break can catch your finger.

Not gonna kill myself.
Just the tape measure.
Gonna murder it, mostly in words.

But, remember.
A good carpenter never blames his tools.

Those As Seen On TV commercials make daily tasks seem WAY too difficult!

A few years back, I was hanging shelves and couldn't find my tape measure, so I was using a laser level I got from opening a checking account. I kept trying measure out points to be lined up on the studs, but everything was off... After measuring a few times, I decided to measure the ruler that was on the level and it turned out to be an 11 inch ruler even though it indicated 12 inches... Thanks China!

I realized yesterday that the gauge on my inflation gun somehow got off by 15 lbs !!!

50 psi in all 4 tires and wondering why in hell the truck was riding so rough :dunce:

So, yeah, I hate it when that happens. LOL

Just hope the bank gives better quality service than the laser level. :D

Must be the same guy who measured Bristol's banking.

From Wikipedia

Degree of banking
The track long advertised its banking as 36 degrees, which at one time made it the most steeply banked track used by NASCAR. However, BMS now lists its banking at 24 to 30 degrees, reflecting the results of the track's most recent resurfacing in 2007.

Even before the resurfacing, there was some dispute as to the accuracy of the measurement. In the 1980s, ESPN often claimed the turns were banked at 35 degrees during television telecast of events at the track. In an interview with Stock Car Racing's Larry Cothren, driver Ryan Newman openly disputed the measurement of the banking of Bristol Motor Speedway's turns. Newman's crew measured the banking during a test session to aid with setups, and found that the turns were banked 26 degrees, rather than the advertised 36 degrees. A Camping World Truck Series open test noted the banking had dropped following resurfacing, to 22-27 degrees, in a variable banking configuration.[4]

Reminds me of an old TV commercial where some "actor" just tilts a pan full of pasta over the sink and it all just falls in and they say "How many times has this ever happened to you?"...you need the new multi-function strainer and we will send you two...."

...and I thought to myself...well that has never happened to me...because I'm not an idiot ;)

..but I ordered anyway since they were two for the price of one :D ...I hunt for bargains....:whoopee:
