I'll go with Newman just because it was Reutimann that wrecked.
 
The only bonehead I saw was Denny Hamlin. As fun as it was to hear his comments and his attempt to get under the skin of some of his competitors, how smart could he be to alienate 25% of the Chase field? There was really nothing for him to gain and everything for him to lose while leading the points. After he pulled his foot out of his mouth in the media center and went out for practice, he found out what his comments could mean to his Chase hopes. Fortunately, for him, the message was sent in practice rather than when it really mattered. But who know, this story may not be over yet. :growl:
 
Tony Jr for leaving Danica out when she was obviously complaining about the right front.
 
I'd say either Stewart for speeding on pit road and taking himself out of title contention or Hamlin and Harvick.
 
I could think of a few: Matt Kenseth for missing the commitment cone and killing his car in the process, Tony same thing without the car damage, Denny Hamlin's mouth. But when it comes to nominees, by bonehead of the race goes to ESPN for going to a commercial with 10 laps to go. How dumb can ya be?????

I've noticed the last couple of races going to commercial with 10 or so laps left. Highly annoying.

i expect to see at least one commercial any time the race gets to 15-20 laps to go regardless of who is televising it. more if a caution comes out. better than the last 5 laps, which i also expect if a caution comes out. television lives off of advertising.
