If I don't go to a race this year, I think I'll scream. More than I usually do. I'm so jealous of all you folks who attend them even semi-regularly. I don't know anyone who wants to go, so I'm stuck not ever going, unless I break down and go by myself.
Which brings me to the point of this thread. Anyone going or care to go to the Dover race weekend next month? I just checked their website, and there are still tickets available. (Well, a ticket was available five minutes ago.) I'd like to go to the Busch race too, of course.
Should cost me a bundle, but not nearly as much as Bristol or somewhere more desirable and farther away. Dover's probably the closest track to me, but I've never been there. It always gets my goat when the boys are nearby and I'm not right there watching them in person. I'd like to break that tradition this year, if at all possible.
I realize this is very last minute, and that none of you really know me from Adam. I'm a little quirky, but not an axe murderer or anything glamorous like that. You can trust me.
I still plan on at least trying to go by myself. Have any of you ever been to a race by yourself? If so, exactly how sad was it?
Better yet, anyone ever been to Dover? I don't know which ticket to buy, but I've got my eye on one in the South Grandstand. Is that a bad spot? I read somewhere that the best seats are inside the clubhouse on the backstretch. Would a seat on the backstretch be better? While you're at it, where exactly is the backstretch? I clearly have no idea what I'm talking about.

Think about it...and thanks!
