The first average listed is the drivers average finish over the past five years, plus this year. A total of 11 races. The drivers are sorted by this average. The next number is the best finish for that driver over that period and the third number is the worst finish for that driver.
The the 5 race average is listed. That the average finish for drivers in the last five races. Then finally is the change in average over those periods. A negative number (in parentheses) means the driver has experienced a worse average over the last 5 races as opposed to the last 5 years. A postive number means the driver's average has gotten better.
Ricky Craven has experienced the biggest improvement advancing his average by 9 spots when comparing 5 years to 5 races. Bobby Labonte and Mark Martin have fallen the furthest with both their averages declining by 8.2 positions.
