Mark Martin missed the pole by .001 and thanked his crew for his car and then apologized for disappointing them. He is the epitome of a class act.
I hope he makes the chase next year and takes the championship. No one is more deserving even though he drove most of his career for the dark side.:D

I like Mark Martin more and more these days. Can't wait to see him in a Hendrick car. Too bad as I'm starting to become a fan of his, he is closer to retiring.

I'm actually hoping to see Jeff in the top 5 at Dover. Kyle, Biffle, Martin, Jeff, and Truex Jr. That will be the outcome of the top 5 Sunday. You saw it here first.

I've been a Mark Martin fan along time, but even I don't believe him when he says he's retiring. LOL :D It's great to see him still running and being competitive.

WHAT!!!! Mark retire, NO WAY:D

;)Don't start a rumor like that;)

Too bad he wont finish their...:growl:

Too bad he won't finish their ... sandwich? Too bad he won't finish their sentence? LOL Yeah, yeah, I'm picking on ya. :D Well, he maybe won't finish exactly THERE where he started, he might finish on the outside lane ............. FIRST. Ok, don't want to jinx him, so top 5. :)

I don't know, I was watching some shows today and there's a lot of feeling this might be Jeff's week. Hope it doesn't hurt too much when you can't bash him. heh heh ;)

It would be nice to see him get a Daytona 500 and a championship before he REALLY retires. If he retires ...... LOL :)

Yes.

GO MARK!

Wait, nevermind. I've figured out that I am jinxing whoever I'm cheering for this season.

GO JEFF AND JIMMIE!

Shhhhhhhhhhsh Andy. :captive: I thought you didn't watch cup racing anymore? Don't you have a drag race to go to or a weather report to type? :lol2: :lol2:

Just got back from Old Dominion Speedway. :D

I won't be watching tomorrow since all I get at the house now is CBS.

CBS Evening News with Katie Couric is THE WORST.

Mark is going to be like morgan sheppard or derrike cope, never actually retired. Except he'll actually be competitive.

I'm waiting to see how long till the multi-vitamin, aspirin, AED, enema, and other such companies start asking to be associates on his cars :p . Not to mention bowflex and other gym units. I think he was a good match for army sponsorship- I bet he could go to the recruiting area outside the frontstraight and do more pull ups and what not than a bunch of the people there.

Really hate to point this out.... well not really :growl: but i told you so.....:growl:

I was waiting for that. LOL I should have put top 10, eh?! At least he gained some spots. That's about all the positive I have to say at this point.

I have so behaved myself. :D

Yep, it certainly has been a bummer of a year, especially after last year when he was so close (and should have won IMO) to winning another championship. It's hard to believe they can't get this car right for him this year. He won in it last year.

I go to my first NASCAR race and think last year was bad when Jeff spun and lost it with 2 laps to go. I had no idea how bad it was going to be THIS YEAR. I really think it's my fault. Everything has been so bad in my life this year, so of course, Jeff has to have a rotten year. Sheeesh! Can't tell you how much I've been hoping to get cheered up on the weekend and then just come away disappointed again. :(

I do appreciate your restraint, Kell. ;) I don't mind the teasing. That's what I liked about this forum when I found it. No one got mean about other drivers, just good-natured teasing and I appreciated that so much compared to other boards. This year... well, it's getting better. I don't like the name calling. I mean can't people come up with something else after all these years than the "gay" slams? That's really rather old. ;)

THIS is what I got to see Jeff do while running towards the back this year. At least he did a good job saving it and not wrecking. (Hmmm.. Robby spun him on this one, too! I think Jeff is changing his last name. LOL)
