The Monster Mile. One of the more unique trophy's in NASCAR. I've always like Dover. Personally, I'm still pi$$ed that they ever shortened this race. Sure it was long, but that's what I paid for. 500 miles at Dover was a long day but this fan liked it. Unfortunately when the did reduce the miles the ticket prices continued to climb. We went there for a long, long time up until they moved the spring date to earlier in the year. Now that it's back in it's spot, we're going to have to revisit that venue. That's if they'll untarp some of those covered seats and let us back in there.

Best thing about the Dover race is that the World of Outlaws late models will be down the road in Delmar on Thursday night.:partytime

I have the fridge full and the tv screen dusted off...so I'm ready.:)

Bobby Toyota..oops I mean Bobby Ford will be happy that Psycho shrub is running all three, not to mention his main man Matt is running two.:) He takes it as well as he gives it out, so does Toyoda BTW. I am hoping one of the young guns takes him out or he blows up the truck. He blew up a couple last time he ran it, and blew up the Cup car..this could be melt down time.

See how I feel Sunday morning if I wanna make the drive to Dover or not. It will have been 2 weeks since I witnessed another JJ victory:mad:

Dover was best with the blacktop and bias ply tires. the show that Dale and Mark put on in 89 was the best, side by side smoke rolling off the tires lap after lap and Dale won.

Goodyear Tires Notes / Fast Facts

  • Tire: Goodyear Eagle Speedway Radials
  • Set limits:
    Sprint Cup: 5 sets for practice/qualifying and 10 sets for the race;
    Nationwide: 7 sets for the event
  • Number of Tires:

    Nationwide: Left-side  525, Right-side -- 525
  • Tire Codes:
    Left-side -- D-4556; Right-side -- D-4440
  • Tire Circumference:
    Left-side -- 87.4 in. (2,220 mm);
    Right-side -- 88.4 in. (2,246 mm)
  • Technical Inspection Inflation:
    Left Front -- 30 psi; Left Rear -- 30 psi;
    Right Front -- 50 psi; Right Rear -- 47 psi
  • Minimum Recommended Inflation:
    Left Front -- 23 psi; Left Rear -- 21 psi;
    Right Front -- 49 psi; Right Rear -- 45 psi
  • Notes: While teams in all three NASCAR series in action at Dover this week will run the same right-side tire code (D-4440), teams in the Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series will run a different left-side code (D-4556) than those in the Camping World Truck Series. . . this is the same combination of left- and right-side tires that Sprint Cup and Nationwide teams ran at Dover last season . . . these teams have also run this right-side tire code (D-4440) at Kentucky in 2011 and 2012 . . . Dover is unique among NASCAR ovals one mile or less in length, in that inner liners are required on all four tire positions . . . air pressure in those inner liners should be 12-25 psi greater than that of the outer tire.

Yahoo fantasy has the wrong person in the 51 at Dover. The entry list on Jayski says Austin Dillon, and the option for the 51 on Yahoo is Regan Smith.

Both of them drive the #51. I've seen other entry lists for Dover that show Regan Smith in the car as well. There seems to be some confusion as to who is in the car this week.

I think his question was , Will Yahoo substitute the driver or leave you with a 'did not enter' for Smith?

I can't give a definitive answer on that. Like I said earlier, I've seen entry lists with each of them in the car but Yahoo has Smith entered. I don't know what their reaction will be once they realize that Dillon is in the car. Personally, I would not take the chance of not getting points and choose someone else but then again that's probably why I'm bringing up the rear of the field right now.

That sucks. He has so much talent -- hope he gets a ride in 2014.

Yep. He damn near won the Nationwide race this weekend last year for Gibbs. Sounds like things are looking up for him though:

Ryan Truex@Ryan_TruexThanks to everyone asking how I'm doing, looks like I won't be able to make Dover. But I have some very big news coming soon #hired

Nooooo! I've always imagined that if I started a NW team, Truex would be one of the drivers I hired. I guess that isn't a option now :(
In all seriousness very happy for him. I think he has all the talent needed to be good in cup.

Jr's last win came in a movie sponsored car too.

Afoot something might be.

Maybe the movie companies are paying off nascar to look the other way to promote the movie in victory lane.o_O

Why does Jeff Gordon always seem to finish 11th at this track as of late?

Cup Practice 11:00 am - 12:30 pm/et, TV-SPEED today

Cup Qualifying 3:15 pm/et, TV-SPEED today

Truck Race @ 5:00 pm (approx) - TV-SPEED - Normally not televised live from Dover but it is today. :cool:

The Great Gatsby wanted to enter a car to promote their movie, but the 1925 Duesenberg they brought to the track failed pre-race inspection.
