Servers will be receiving new, bigger, faster hard drives some time today, and that will mean a short downtime as I move stuff. Not sure when they will do it though. Shouldn't be too long.

If you start around 2am I should be in bed by then and that would give you time to have them up by the time I got up in the morning... ;)

Didn't hurt a bit and it looks to be much faster now. Thanks. :)
I would hope so. The old drives were IDE, the new drives are SATA. Web server now has a 500 gigger, and the database server now has a 150 gig Raptor. (i.e. fastest drive I could put in the server.)

hey look somebody posting stuff i understand.

You got the 10,000 RPM WD raptor I take it? I have a 160 GB SATA seagate and a 300 GB IDE western Digital in my computer, and i can tell the difference in the interfaces.

my friend was thining about getting the Raptor X with the clear cover but didn't because you wouldnt be able to see it in his case.. (though Fry's has a 100% clear polycrylic computer case for like 125 bucks i think)
