It's a great day to be a Redskins fan.

He'll definitely bring some big play potential over there. Wish he was going to Miami but it looks like we're gonna end up with Tannhill, who started his career as a wide receiver and only started 17 games at quarterback....as you can tell I'm not real excited about this

David Garrard's a solid quarterback. He did great things in a Jacksonville team that only had two other talented players (MoJo, Scobee).

The same way they screw everybody up, especially QB's...look how many has left the Redskins and went to the Superbowl with another team.

The biggest problem with the Redskins, and the same with the Cowboys, is there are too many chiefs and not enough indians. Snyder kills that team....getting fat, over-weight lineman and paying them $100 million is a prime example.

Fat Albert Haynesworthless anyone?

If there's a way for Snottie to screw up, he'll find it.

The Jaguars made a smart move for once in their lives. Justin Blackmon.
That was a really good pick. I really wanted him as the Browns fourth pick up until recently when I found out more about Trent Richardson. I liked Richardson a little better than Blackmon, but not a whole lot. That guy plays big. He has great hands and big play ability.

By the way, my hometown Cleveland Browns really made me happy. They got Trent Richardson, the best non-quarterback in the draft and the best running back prospect since Adrian Peterson. He is tough as hell, has great balance and fumbled a total of one freaking time in his entire college career. He is perfect for the division we play in. When you play Pittsburgh and Baltimore twice each every year, you need to be tough and physical and you need to run the ball, especially in the bad weather we get up here later in the season.

And they got Brandon Weedon with the 22nd pick of the first round. That is the QB I wanted all along. He has an absolute cannon. He is accurate and makes great decisions. The only real drawback I kept hearing about him, and the reason he lasted until the 22nd pick, is that he is 28 years old and will be 29 in October or so. He played minor league baseball for several years and so he started college late, of course. I see his age as a positive in a lot of ways. He has maturity and poise that you can't teach.

I've never been to Cleveland. I do know, however, all the suffering the Browns have had to endure, in like forever, it seems. Good luck to your ballclub this year. I, too, was pleased with the draft for my Az Cardinals.

Anyone else here remember back in the early 90's when the NFL draft was on a Sunday and it would pre-empt the Winston Cup Martinsville race until Sunday night? I think one year ESPN even waited until Monday evening to show it. They got away with it back then because the internet wasn't as widespread and our cellphones resembled building blocks. Just had to close your eyes and cover your ears on Sunday night when your local sportscaster would tell you to do so before revealing that day's Cup winner. LMAO @ that $#@^ today - but definitely not back then.

Speaking of pre-emptive tv scheduling and the NFL, I'm sure some of you are aware that the NFL will be kicking off the season on a Wednesday night this year - a first. Just look it up for yourself as to why that is so this thread doesn't go south.

redskins draft 2 qb's? hmmm.... maybe rg111 should consider renting.

Overall, I'd have to give the Browns a solid 'B'. The first round was an 'A'. The second round was ok. They totally blew the third round pick. They had a chance to get a much needed wide receiver, and they ended up taking a back-up defensive tackle. Defensive tackle was already a strength of the team and the wide receiver corps was probably the worst in the league last year. I love the Travis Benjamin pick in the fourth round however. He isn't a guy who will catch 100 balls a year or get over 1,000 yards in a year, but he adds speed and big play ability to a team that needs that more than anything.
