MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) -- Cobb County police negotiators talked a man into surrendering six hours after he took his estranged wife and five others hostage in an apartment, police said.
The man was believed to have had a handgun at the large apartment complex east of Interstate 75 when he went in about 9 a.m.
A police spokesman, Officer Wayne Delk, said the man held his wife, her sister, two men and two children hostage. He supposedly wanted to see his children more, Delk said.
The gunman first allowed three adults to leave, then eventually surrendered to police negotiators.

Really NEXT DOOR! This apartment complex is the same block as I am and my small Townhome Community is separated from them by only a fence and a bunch of Georgia Pines!
