Wow! A few surprises in there.Thought Bill would be ranked higher,he has a great record at Indy and is on a roll.Kenseth is lower than I would have thought too.

No offense to Gordon Fans, But 5/1 seems a little good. Kinda of like T. Woods at the Open. He was ranked 7/4 and never had a chance. But I guess you can never rule out 4 championships and a very competitive team.

Ya'll need to remember that this is parimutual betting designed to keep the house winning most of the money while implying that by betting, the better actually has a chance of winning. The Jeff consistantly goes off on raceday at 2 or 3 to 1

But take Jeff at 5 to 1 in every race for a whole year and see how much you've made. You'ld be 20 in the hole at the moment. By the end of the year Jeff will have needed to win 7 races just for you to break even.

Bet 1 thirty-six times. 7 wins gets you 35. Minus the 36 you wagered? Well, yer still a buck in the hole.

Da Bookies got it figured better than just about anybody. Beside, I wouldn't take Jeff at less than 20 to 1 right now. The guys is on a losing streak and untill it's broken he's just another racer. 5 to 1 is a sucker bet right now on The Jeff.

The oddsmakers vary from place to place. Not sure where RacingOne gets there odds, but there are some better ones. These come from a large sportsbook and are a bit different.

But like 71Fan sez, these guys have only one job and that is to ge the money down on the right balance of drivers so their house never loses. In its way it is one of the most fascinating statistical exercises in the world. Just by watching the odds change as raceday approaches you can tell where the money is being placed and how well the oddsmaker did his job to start. If the odds don't change much, the guy set his initials just about right.

Anyway, some other odds to ponder:
