Drivers Moving On

Just wondering of anyone knows where Marlin is planning on heading next year and if there's any truth to Harvick in the #2 next season?

I think that Harvick has one more year on his contract. He is also pretty happy where he is at. :beerbang:

Don't know about Marlin, but Harvick denied the rumour when interviewed during qualifying yesterday.

Drivers always denie questions asked like just like team owners. I really hope he doesn't go to the #2

Contracts really don't mean squat. Almost any driver/team can get out of a contract. It's done all the time. I hope he is happy where he is.

I think Kevin has made it pretty clear he's not going anywhere.....

KEVIN HARVICK, NO. 29 GM GOODWRENCH CHEVROLET MONTE CARLO - Responds to Craftsman Truck TV broadcast comment on 6/10 reporting that Harvick would be making a move to Dodge: "I think that Ray (Dunlap, SpeedTV on-air talent for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series) will probably be thoroughly embarrassed in the next couple of months there with everything we've been working on (contracts). The bad part about it is that I have another year on my contract with RCR and a couple of years with Chevrolet. I think if the facts would have at least been checked on and not just dreamed up over a couple of beers, we probably would have had a much better telecast on the Speed channel last night watching the Truck race. They need to worry about what the hell they're doing and things will be reported a little more accurately."

But what Kevin doesn't understand is that if only accurate news was reported all the time, then there wouldn't be near as many controversies........and we'd have practically nothing to squawk over!!! :D

I say Harvick stays with RCR for a while longer..........and Marlin will find a ride with someone for another couple years, then he goes the way of Jimmy Spencer (to the trucks or something). Sad, I guess but drivers are sort of like old soldiers...........they just fade away into the sunset. :)

Harvick will be with RCR next year. Dave Blaney is the one that needs to be concerned. :D

last i heard....Marlin may be in the 6 car next year...or Ricky Rudd will be.

I read something today about Bobby Hamiltion Jr saying that he has a back up plan if Tide decides to leave.

can anyone see the 6 car with Tide on it and Ricky Rudd driving it? i could see that happeneing.....Tide loved Ricky Rudd

IMO, a lot will hinge on who makes the Chase and who is left out and why. A few jobs are safe, some are warm and others are flat out on the hot seat. Doing a list like they do for college coaches would be a fun exercise. 0 to 5 with 0 being no chance and 5 is they may not last the season.
My list would look something like this:
JGordon 0
Jimmie Johnson 0
Kyle Busch 0
Brian Vickers 1.5
Michael Waltrip 2
Dale Earnhardt Jr. 0 (But he could walk)
Kevin Harvick 3
Dave Blaney 3
Jeff Burton 1
Dale Jarrett 0
Elliott Sadler 0
