Drivers not happy with garage security

NASCAR's garage security has been terrible this season on the Nextel Cup tour, forcing drivers back into hiding in their motor coaches, to avoid being mobbed by the hundreds of fans swarming through the working areas. Yesterday, Dale Earnhardt Jr. finally had enough, and to make a point with lackadaisical NASCAR officials, Earnhardt took a page from his late father's book. He sat down on the rear deck of the NASCAR trailer and signed autographs for the crowd that quickly packed the area, making it impossible for officials to enter or leave.

Good for him.....

Prediction: Next race, Junior gets hit with a tech inspection violation and losses some points and gets a fine...

Yeah, look for a fine Tuesday. I mean a penalty. Or maybe both.

I say give'm the death penalty. Suspension the rest of this year and all of next... ;)

Windshields, as echoed on Wind Tunnel last night, even at a mere 12% thinner than reg, can still improve downforce and can cause it to get a little more flimsy, meaning the wind that hits the car would somewhat bow in the windshield adding push downward to the car.

They check by using templates.

And yes, fans are too much in the area, but they are controlled by the number of tickets sold. It's the sponsor tour groups, drivers friends and family (who do have the right to be there), track tour group specials, etc. that really crowd it because NASCAR can't control that.
