Watching the late, late edition of Na$car Now last night. They were discussing Kasey's move to HMS but that nothing has been finalized, they're not even sure if Bud will follow him.

If I heard correctly the people at HMS are tied up actively seeking a sponser for the #24 next year.

Thought that was a life time deal.

Jeff driving for Rick is the only lifetime deal

From Matt McLaughlin's Monday column on The Frontstretch.....

There are also reports that DuPont might not be back with Gordon and the No. 24 team next year as primary sponsors, though they will still remain with the team to some degree. That would end the longest-lasting Team/Driver/Sponsor relationship in the sport currently, as the trio have been together since Gordon’s Cup debut in Atlanta in November 1992. Early indications are that Pepsi might take over the sponsorship for the team, a move that’s deliciously ironic. Pepsi is used to finishing second to Coke just as Gordon is getting used to finishing second to Johnson.

My guess is if Dupont isn't the primary sponsor then Pepsi will take over, as they are a long time sponsor of Jeff. The company obviously has a good relationship with Hendrick, i.e. Amp Energy on the 88.

I also read on another forum that supposedly Jeff was asked about this last Friday while the teams were in Richmond. The post stated that he said that Dupont would still be a very big part of their team. He also supposedly said that they had been in talks with Shell/Penzoil. There was no link given to where this information could be varified, so take it for what it is worth.

It's not surprising. I can't imagine how the bean counters at Dupont could possibly justify the price of a full sponsorship...
