I'm thinking of getting a DVD and VCR together. I have alot of kids disney movies for the VCR. Hinting to hubby for a Christmas present! Get tired of getting sweaters!

If you're gonna get one, you gotta get one that can play CD/DVD/VideoCD/MP3.
Very nice to burn a bunch of albums onto one disc and browse through them on the TV menu.
Sony is probably the best, IMO.

Been looking at both Sony and JVC.......have JVC camcorder and tv. Good stuff. I want progressive scan even though I don't have a high definition tv (things change......they could get down to my budget level some day ). Plus I want the zoom capability. I'm not sure it is standard with most.........some mention it, some don't. Not particularly looking for surround sound but that seems standard. DVD, DVD-R, CD, CD-RW, VCD and MP-3 are all musts as is JPEG compatability. Thanks for your input.

I got a cheap one and Apex. Don't know makes it but it works good.
