DW says no Martinsville on his horizon

Might not be deserving of new thread, but the original on this story went off in a different direction, kinda.

When asked yesterday about rumors of his racing at Martinsville in the #40 car these were Darrell's responses:

I was wondering that myself! I've been waiting by my phone and so far I haven't heard anything. But! But! I sure would like the opportunity!

As we talked about the 40 car earlier, Sterling's car, and I mentioned it to Stevie, my wife, you know, maybe they will call DW and ask if I want to run Martinsville because I did run Martinsville earlier in the truck. And her response to me was, "Is that a Winston Cup car?" And I said, "Yeah, the 40 car." And she says, "A Winston Cup car?" And I said, "Yeah." And she says, with all seriousness, "Your Winston Cup days are over, bucko!"

Well Mike Bliss was testing the 40, not like that means anything. Personally, I'd rather see a new guy like Bliss get a chance over someone who retired like DW.

His wife sounds like she's got a personality like DW!

I bet you DW did call into the #40 shop to get a ride. Heck, so would I if I knew the number, you never know what could happen!

Put Back Row Joe in it. Or make a deal with Ray and get Casey. Bring in Boris. Any of the Sauters would slide in to that seat for next to nothing. Carl Long would probably drive it for burgers and fries.

There are at least 200 folks ready to jump, with any one of them being capable of getting that car to Victory Lane. It's way more car than it is driver when it comes to bringing a car to the checkers.

Did somebody take the 44 ride from Jerry while I wasn't watching? Don't think so, so I'm guessing here that Jerry would have a very difficult time driving two cars on Sunday. Just a guess mind you.:)

I'm sure Jerry would drop the #44 car for a race in the #40.

I would love to see Atwood in it. It won't happen though.

Well thats good that he ain't gonna race when you retire you retire
