We all pretty much knew this was going to happen, but this is just official confirmation of it. EA Sports has lost their exclusive contract to make NASCAR games which they've had since 2003 I think.

Thus, EA Sports boss Peter Moore has said that they have no future plans to make any NASCAR games. The staff that was developing these games has been resigned to the MMA development teams.

Several games have been announed to have licensed NASCAR cars, drivers, and tracks. Including Gran Turismo 5 on the Playstation 3, and iRacing.com. There hasn't been any announcements of a stand-alone NASCAR game, but hopefully someone will do so shortly.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that a company like Codemasters will pickup the license.

Fantastic! They've continuously produced the absolute worst in NASCAR related gaming software for years! Maybe it can finally be placed into the hands that can actually create a good sim.

If you have a PC, rFactor has a few really good NASCAR sims already. IRacing is nice to, but it's online only.

Maybe the folks that produced the Papyrus games will come back and do a new one. NR2003 is the best NASCAR game ever made.

Yes, I haven't liked the Nascar sims since then. Hopefully a company will do it justice again.
