Earlier this year...

I'm done being pissed at NASCAR. I'm now going to direct my rage at the other 41 drivers who couldn't beat him (because Harvick DID beat him)

I have a feeling I'm going to be using this picture alot over the next few days or weeks. Also yes, I made it. :D

It's not Jimmie Johnson hatred, it's Jimmie Johnson boredom.

If the Steelers or Patriots won the Super Bowl 5 straight years (3 of them with 9-7 records), you know damn well the viewership for the NFL would plummet. That's one of the reasons NASCAR's ratings are free falling like Tom Petty.

Looks like Chandra is up against some pretty stiff compatition this off-season.Huh Andy.

It's coming off as hatred. You may not like Johnson or the fact that he won five in a row, but at least give him credit when credit is due. He's the only driver in the entire Winston/Nextel/Sprint Cup history to win five in a row. I wouldn't mind the *****ing so much if I felt that there was at least respect for the man's accomplishment. However, the respect is lacking.

The respect is lacking because it was done from a welfare points system. That's like being proud of getting a promotion at work because of Affirmative Action while smarter, better educated, better qualified people are not.

Harvick was ****ed, end of story.

Yes yes, I'm sure there are still people who are pissed over the fact we now have colored television and women are given the right to vote. As it has been pointed out SEVERAL times in the past, the "old points" system actually encompasses very different points system that was changed over the years. The Chase is simply a continuation of that change.

Also, better? Dude, Hamlin choked and Harvick, so desperate to get out of Pit Row near the front sped! Hamlin caused his own accident, and Harvick shouldn't have sped out of Pit Row. Hamlin and Harvick made costly mistakes.

Getting caught twice with ILLEGAL parts on the car and NO PENALTIES.Yeah he really deserves respect.:rolleyes:The only thing he's accomplished is giving Brian France a stiffie followed up with a Happy Ending.

Yea, because everyone races honest in Stock Car racing.

Like it has been said, everyone cheats, all that matters is whether or not you get caught. I bet you five bucks that if NASCAR were to inspect every car that qualifies for the Daytona 500, more than half the field would be caught cheating. Hel, I bet the entire field.

They said Harvick's was ENTERING not exiting and if he was on Edwards rear bumper entering pit road why wasn't Edwards given a penalty also????????

I don't know, that's something to ask them. However it's still Harvick's fault.

Everyone else that gets caught gets fined and points taken away but the 48 gets nothing??????????

Was this Pre-race inspection or post race?

What's the difference any time anybody else got caught for the same thing they lost points and fined but the 48 gets gets to change out the parts with no penalty.but both were pre-race and so were the others

They did get caught, twice in 3 weeks. Shouldn't matter if it was pre race, they got caught. Nascar has penalized other teams, including the 48, for failing pre race inspections before. Why not these 2 times? Oh, that's right, it would mess up his chance at the championship.

Then what's the problem? They were given a chance to correct the car before the race, and they obviously did if they pass post-race inspection. As far as I can tell, one of those pre-race failures is uncertain, some was saying the part was illegal, while others were saying that the steering shaft cover had a crack in it, so it was a safety issue.

Everybody else has to fix the car plus gets a penalty, either start at the back, fine or points, at least something. The 48 got nothing.

To me the sad thing about when the 48 gets caught, is that I think Jimmie is good enough and Chad is good enough that they don't need to try to cheat.

Read back to when I said EVERYONE cheats. Like it or not, NASCAR is a sport where EVERYONE tries to find an edge over the competition, no matter how small. Like I said, one of those failures, I'm unsure of, because nothing ever came down the official channel. Was it an illegal part, or was it an unsafe part?

The problem is other teams didn't get to just change out the parts without fines and loss of points like golden boy did.The drive shaft cover was made of a thicker gauge steel just like the radiator pans were on 2 other cars earlier this year and they lost I think 50 points a piece. If JJ would have got the same just for that your boyfriend wouldn't be champ.

Also, if you want to know how ingrain "Cheating" is in NASCAR, google Smokey Yunick.

Yes I know they all cheat at some point. If they don't get caught then good for them, if they get caught they should be penalized. I feel that way about all 43 cars on the track, not just 42.

SpeedPagan apparently has his blinders on, and isn't connecting the dots. The problem isn't cheating, we KNOW that cheating is going on. This year, last year, the year before that (and son on), cars that have been caught during pre-race inspecation (as the 48 was....twice in the last three weeks) have been penalized in one form or another. The 48 has been caught with something twice during the 2010 chase, and nothing was done.

Nobody's saying he's not talented, they're simply pointing out the apparent double standard that seems to surround that team this year.

Hahahh this year? Come on this has been happening since the first Championship. The worst thing to happen to Nascar is for JJ to win another championship.

So far, all the claims of cheating has been coming from 2nd hand source. Nothing has come officially from NASCAR.

Let's put away the black helicopters for a minute and think about this. What good would it do for NASCAR to NOT penalize the 48 team? As it has been said so many times that it got old, everyone is tired for 48 winning the Championships. I'm sure NASCAR has heard the griping about the 48 team, so why wouldn't they penalize them?

So, assuming that these 2nd hand sources are true, let's look at the two instance of claimed cheating.

First was vague and no one could really figured out what was going on. Something to do with the steering column cover? Something was cracked? A part removed? That's the problem with the first claim, no one can give a straight answer.

Second one had the wheel stud be what, half an inch shorter? Once again, this is from a second hand source and nothing official from NASCAR. Nothing from a post-race inspection.

Yea, until I hear something from NASCAR on these two incidents, I'm taking these "claims" of cheating with a grain of salt.

As for Chad not being punished. Yea, he was actually punished once before the 2006 Daytona 500. Suspended until March 22. Johnson was also punished in 2007 when his car didn't pass inspection, he didn't qualify and had to start in the back. Chad was fined $100,000 and suspended for six races.

Now you may resume to flying the back helicopters.

Guess your JJ posters that adorne your ceiling don't allow you to see it.... I'd like to hold your breath on hearing anything official from NASCAR.

Regarding the black helicopters, you do need to remember that Brian seems to think that this sort of domination is good for the sport. Hence the reason for suspicion.

As for 2006, I didn't bring up 2006. I specifically mentioned the 2010 chase.

I know, I simply used 2006 and 2007 as an example that Chad and Johnson HAVE been penalized.

Also, source for Brian saying that?
