No, not Jr......

Dale Earnhardt's grandson -- an aspiring race car driver in his own right -- was arrested in West Virginia last night after cops say the 25-year-old was tooling around Charleston while hammered.
Bobby Dale Earnhardt -- a driver in the ARCA Truck series -- was pulled over by Charleston police just before midnight after cops say he was driving erratically.
During the stop, cops say, BDE admitted he had been boozing at a bar earlier in the evening. He also bombed a field sobriety test.
Earnhardt was eventually arrested for DUI and hauled to a nearby station -- where he was booked

Hate to say it but its the same old story with these young athletes.

Self destruction is enemy #1 for these guys.

They don't realize how lucky they are to be racing and that their sponsorships are affected by their off track F-ups.. I was at the Phoenix race back in 04' or 05' when Kurt got popped, if he wasn't a Cup champ I'm not sure he would have got a ride after being released by Roush. Penske seems to give guys a second chance, first Kurt then AJ after he got busted for DUI

First time thousands of racefans are even hearing about this kid's existence & this is how he's introduced. You know when Jr was this kids age back when he was shuttin out the Busch Series in that famed AC Delco #3, he did a crapload of partying but he never got any DUI's. Probably cause Sr was still around & would've kicked his butt. Kerry better sit him down & explain to him that if he's not going to be serious about racing that at the very least, he needs to respect the name by not goin out & doin stupid things like this...

And probably for as long as beer/wine have been around.
It is only because of the access to social media that we hear of all these things about famous athletes and movie stars screw ups. Everything is instant these days and people want to know all the dirt. Fifty years ago don't you think stock car drivers, pro football players, and other top tier athletes were driving around drunk and getting stopped? Probably more so.....we just never found out about it!

Ok fess up, how many thought Junior for half a second before clicking.

The thought crossed my mind, and I do not associate him with having a problem. The name association did the trick for me.

I thought Junior when I saw the thread heading. But, my first thought was surprise, not that he would be drinking, but that he would be stupid enough to drive afterward. Junior's partying is pretty well known, but he seems much smarter than to tarnish his image by doing something so reckless. I can't see him doing that to his father's name.

I confess, mainly because I remember the story behind that 'cool' bandana he wore for a week or 2 some years back. Got drunk, fell down and split his forehead open.

The problem with being drunk is the intelligent thinking goes out the window.

Hey he does own a bar, does he not?

I fell for it myself. Only reason I clicked on teh thread to begin with. :D

I never, ever understood the thinking behind getting blind, staggering drunk. What's the use of having fun if you're too drunk to remember it?
Yep, never could understand those that do shooters until they cant walk then ask the next day if they should be looking over their shoulder for somebody wanting to kick their ass.

Good old hang over. They shoudl have left that movie at 1.

Well the next day your buddy can tell you all the fun things you don't remember.....of course not that has happened to me.....nope....

I've never gotten drunk in my life.

As a result of not being a hardcore drinker I usually get tipsy around 3 beers. lol

Never really got into whiskey drinking. That just makes me puke.

try an aged whiskey like Papy Van Winkle or Macallan.. way smoother than Jack Danielle's

I actually thought it was Kerry when I read it, then I thought well that should make him drive better.
