Owens was right up there for about 30 laps I'd say. He eventually gave up 2nd to Bloomquist while racing hard. But he drove to the pits during a caution and something mechanical must have done him in cause he never came back. Dont know why I didnt just walk over and find out....maybe I was too busy watching the furious action...

edit: actually, that was McDowell that had an early problem and never recovered. Owens had chronic tire issues after he was passed by Bloomquist.
 
and Dennis Franklin Passed Scott on lap 99 to take 2nd place
 
yeah it was the 30 car....quite a nice looking car too. And unlike most of the field, he actually looked stronger as the race progressed.
