Puting words on my screen again? Never said that anyone in NASCAR cheats. Never said that DEI doesn't. But how does the old saying go......It ain't cheatin if you haven't been caught...or something like that.

I just think its hilarious that people think that NASCAR helps DEI.

Why is that so hard for you to imagine?

It can be cheating, and it can be cheating without them being caught.

Didn't I just say that?

I was trying to come up with the saying that has been said, maybe Smokey Yunick said it...can't remember.

Everybody knows that every team in NASCAR tries to get around the rules. But to think that NASCAR lets a certain team get by on stuff is kind of ridiculous.

Its funny that anytime DEI wins, its because NASCAR let them. When Rousch wins, its because of the driver or the equipment or some other reason.

Here we go again, cheatin, cheatin, cheatin.
once again with absolutley no proof whatsoever, not even a rumor.
Have a beer and chill out.

not cheatin cheatin cheatin...its from paul..so its stirrin stirrin stirrin...

Give it a rest ....all the teams cheat....man i get so sick of this DEI crap all the time. Nascar officials catch teams cheating all the time , if they didn't cheat they wouldn't be able to compete at the WC level. It is called gaining a competitive advantage. It is to what degree some will take it without getting caught that gives them dominance, obviously DEI has figured out a way to get a few more horses out of the engine or slip through the air a little better than the other teams. Either Nascar will figure them out or the other teams will, then everything will be on an even keel again, it all balances out! There is no conspiracy, you have been reading too many Clancy novels Paul....lol :D :D

Smokey never cheated...he knew the rules & knew how to make the rules work for him. Before they limited the length of gas line from the gas tank to the carb, he was the one that ran it back & forth the length of the car to get the extra gallon of gas.

DW & Buddy Parrott were cheaters...they were the ones who devised a trap door on the chasis of the car that DW could pull during the race to let out weight of the car...only reason they got caught was because the door got stuck open & was raining shot all over the other drivers and in their pit stall.

There's a big difference.

Yeh if you say so, how do figure running extra fule line wasn't cheating? Didn't they change the rule after they found out Smokey was doing that? What i meant by my previous statement was that they all bend the rules.....they have to or they might as well pack it up on the trailer and go home.

How's it cheating? There was no rule against it? I'd call that genius. :einstein: Notice they changed the rule AFTER that.

I'll never deny they all cheat...it's only cheating if you get caught...like Tony got caught at Texas. Of course I think Ryan may have gotten away with it there too. ;)

How do you figure Newman was cheating? There was no rule against it in Smokeys' case , but they created one as soon as they found out what he was doing .....so in actuallity they did it because he" bent" the rules...same thing as cheating only in a differnt context.

Not sure I said Ryan was cheating? Just said I think he may have gotten away with one. The car was 40-45 pounds underweight at Texas. Water weighs 8.3 lbs per gallon. 45 divided by 8.3 = 5.42 gallons. I'm not positive what the capacity of the cooling system of a Winston Cup car is but if you look at Jeff Gordon's site it says it's 14 quarts...14 quarts = 3 1/2 gallons.

They filled up his car with all the required fluids, which they are mandated by the rules to do and he passed post race inspection. Cars are weighed full of fuel, oil, and water. His radiator had a leak the last few laps and ran dry , luckily he didn't fry the engine

Lucky it didn't look like 'Old Faithful' going down the straight away either!

Should be an automatic to fill it with fuel then before they weigh it...otherwise every car would come in under weight for post race inspection. 22 gallons of fuel on an empty tank would be like about 180 lbs.
