Sumbeeches sold my mortgage. I go to a local branch the first of the month and pay. Only because I get a reciept, no lost in the mail krap which happened several years ago. Last month got a letter saying they won't accept payments, wait for the letter from the company that they sold it too. Went there last week to pay, BoA HAS NO WAY TO ACCEPT PAYMENT. Payment due 1st of the month, 15 day grace period, same as everywhere. Letter came today, 15 freakin minutes ago. By rights I'm 6 days late but no penalty. Call the 800 number, go thru push this number hell. Finally get a person. ISOWANTTOTHANKYOUFORCALLING. Obviously not in Fla where the letterhead states. So I ask "David" WTF?
He says: thankyouagainforcallingIcantakeyourpaymentbyphoneandwecansetupautomaticwithdrawalsfromyouraccountsahib. I say kiss my azz, nobody is getting info about my bank accounts.

This company "OCWEN" is a freakin collection company that now buys mortgages! Since buying this place in sept 2002 I have never been late. WTF is going on?

See if you can join a federal credit union, we belong to Pen Air, they are member owned and there will not be any "Sahibs".
 
My wife is from So Cal and all I heard was BoA this and BoA that when we bought this place. BoA has done nothing more and nothing less in handling our mortgage for us to either gain or lose confidence in them. Seems we constantly get calls or flyers about new car loans/ credit cards/savings and checking accounts. We have none of theirs.

She is going to go thru the mortgage documents this weekend. We both heard the lawyer state that BoA never sells their "paper". Now to see if it's in writing.

Very wise move but still keep the FCU in mind
 
Hey SST, wait until you get five and six letters a day telling you that you are late. Then talk to one of their reps who will tell you that just ignore, it's a technical problem on our end. Then you get five or six letters a day again for a week (BTW, all of them worded exactly the same except for the date) and again you call and talk to a rep. When you get a letter warning of foreclosure you will have reached your limit as I did when BofA bought our mortgage. I told the guy that it was easy for him to tell me to ignore the letter, but it wasn't his house that was being threatened. Oh, and be thankful that your mortgage was sold by your local bank. Our original lien holder went bankrupt and BofA bought the liens of thousands of homes. The bankrupt company didn't have the escrow monies and we had to come up with that to get caught up. I've talked to several people who have experienced this. Welcome to the club.
 
I know BofA sells mortages they sold mine to a German Bank. I am confused that you say they sold it to a collection agency? I've never heard that before is it even legal?
 
They're a collection agency that's branched out into buying and servicing mortgages from what I was told.
