Well, tomorrow is the Prelude To The Dream at Eldora Speedway in Ohio.

I am going with a bunch of buddies of mine. It will be my first time there. Anyone else going or been there before ??

Eldora Speedway is in New Weston, OH. That's some 10 hours away.

I will be there and then it is a 9.5 hour drive to Pocono on Thursday. :beerbang:

I had a chance to go and stay with some racing friends of mine in their camper. The only problem I would have had to drive to Indiana by myself because that is where they are from. Couldn't afford that long of a trip right now.

Are you going to stay for the Dream too or just the Prelude?

If I were going, I would want to see the Dream more than the Prelude.

Best of luck, Dale McDowell, Donnie Moran, and a few others. :)

Yeah me too, guys like Moyer, Francis, Bloomquist, Pearson are really fun to watch. Although the prelude is great too.

You forgot the NEWPORT NIGHTMARE Jimmy O:rolleyes::cool::eek:

Yeah, I didn't list a ton of the really great late model guys though. Those guys really have some skills, and there are so few cautions in the big late model races. Some of the best racing around IMO

10 cautions in 15 laps Friday Night in the Inaugural Steel Block Bandit Late Model Series @ Potomac Speedway.

Getting a World of Outlaws race requires spending the money for sanctioning. Potomac won't do that.

Yeah, i'm suprized they don't have one. It seems like the Outlaws go everywhere, they even go all the way out to Saskatchewan and Wyoming. I've never been to Potomac but the racing there can't be worse than at Eriez and Fayetteville(I only saw 1 WoO race at each track, but they were TERRIBLE)

I guess we are going to the whole thing. I dont know. Im not driving. I guess its only a little over an hour away from where I live.

It will be fun. I just hope it doesnt rain.

Looks like a good chance of rain at Eldorda today, not good.:(

Yeah, I heard the Fayetteville race was awful. They were talking about that at Carolina 200 Qualifying, a lot of veteran motorsports reporters said it was the worst race ever.

Potomac's a nice track. It's just a matter of paying World Racing Group to come race there. For the amount of money they ask, Potomac would rather put up a big purse and run the race themselves.

[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif][SIZE=-1]JUNE 3 (10:30 am) - Our offices have been deluged with telephone calls and e-mails, inquiring about the status of the Wednesday's Prelude to the Dream, due to varying reports of possible inclement weather.

It is our intention and goal to complete the full event on its scheduled day - Wednesday, June 3, 2009.

Should a weather issue arise which prevents us from completing the Prelude to the Dream on Wednesday, a contingency plan would be announced over the Public Address system and updated on www.eldoraspeedway.com, after conferring with all participating drivers on their future schedules. Andy, maybe you don't know, but a Steele Block Bandit's crate late model show comes nowhere close to being a "big show." While I like the idea of a crate class, the crate lates often have the most cautions at the track.

There was somebody from Rockingham promoting the Carolina 200 and UARA race at Fayetteville that night so I guess it must have been that guy talking about it. Fayetteville was really awful but I think it was no worse than the World of Outlaws race at Eriez in 2007. Same thing, zero passing at all. The only reason the pole sitter(Vic Coffey) didn't win at Fayetteville was because he cut a tire and that took himself and Josh Richards out of it. I heard the Outlaws had a great race at Fayetteville last year, I heard Richards came from very deep in the field to win. Maybe it was just a bad night...

Persistent Rain Postpones Fifth Annual Prelude to the Dream

Dirt Late Model Race Rescheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2009 at Eldora Speedway

ROSSBURG, Ohio (June 3, 2009) – Persistent rain has forced officials at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, to postpone the fifth annual Prelude to the Dream. The all-star dirt late model race has been rescheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 9. A decision regarding the broadcast of the event will be made at a later date.

The wet weather made it impossible to run the event that was slated to benefit four military-themed charities – Wounded Warrior Project, Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, Operation Homefront and Fisher House.

“We worked really hard to make sure everything was right for the drivers, fans and viewers at home on HBO Pay-Per-View, but the weather was the one element we couldn’t control,” said Tony Stewart, two-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion and owner of Eldora Speedway.

Those who have already purchased the Prelude to the Dream on HBO Pay-Per-View, which was slated to begin today at 7 p.m. EDT, will be refunded.

Those who purchased a ticket to the event can apply the value of their Prelude to the Dream ticket toward any remaining event on the 2009 Eldora Speedway schedule. To view the schedule, please visit Eldora Speedway or call the track office (937) 338-3815.

What the beef with WRG and UMP, Andy?

We are going to Rayburn in a few weeks and pick up a car ready to go. Going to hit up some big shows next year with Chris Shelton as the driver. www.sheltonracing.com And the BIG E along with the UMP Summer Nationals "Hell Tour" will be on the schedule.

Fayettevill was apparently so bad this year that the officials and the racers were still complaining about it the next night at VMS.

No beef -- I just said their sanctioning fees aren't reasonable to the speedway.

Yeah, I heard that too. I was at VMS but I didn't buy a pit pass so i didn't hear it there. I think the Outlaws have another race at Fayetteville this year(August maybe?), we'll see how it goes then.
