I'm not sure that it really needed changed but okay, I guess.

Chad Little discussed changes on SIRIUSXM NASCAR Radio.

NASCAR has extended the length of qualifying races for the Camping World Truck Series race next month at Eldora (Ohio) Speedway along with other tweaks to the format for that event.

NASCAR announced the changes Tuesday morning.

Changes for the 1-800 Car Cash Mudsummer Classic on July 23 include:

Each qualifying race has been extended to 10 laps. Last year’s qualifying races were eight laps.
Pit stops during competition cautions are optional. They were mandatory last year.

A random draw will determine the qualifying order. Last year, practice speeds dictated the qualifying order.

Owner points will be awarded to the top five team owners whose trucks do not advance to the feature race. Last year, teams that failed to advance to the feature received no points.

“Last year’s inaugural event at Eldora Speedway was an incredible success, and these enhancements will only increase the excitement for our fans,” said Chad Little, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series managing director.

The top 20 in owners points entering the event will again have a guaranteed starting spot.

The race’s format will feature the following:

Two-lap, single-truck qualifying for starting positions in the qualifying races.

There will be five qualifying races. Only green flag laps count in those races.

The top five trucks in qualifying will start on the pole for their respective qualifying races with four locked-in trucks (top 20 in driver points) starting in each qualifying race.

Five trucks from each qualifying race transfer to the feature - four locked-in trucks and one non-locked-in truck.

The Last Chance Race’s lineup will be based on finishing position from the qualifying races.

This race will be 15 laps and only green flag laps will count. The top four finishers from this race advance to the feature and will start that event in positions 26-29. The 30th starting position in the feature goes to the most recent past series champion. If the position is not filled by an eligible champion, it will go to the next highest finishing Truck from the Last Chance Race.

The feature race will be 150 laps and divided into segments of 60, 50 and 40 laps with competition cautions at the breaks on Laps 60 and 110.

Caution laps will not count during the competition cautions and positions cannot be improved on pit road. Teams that do not pit during the competition cautions will start ahead of teams that elected to pit.

Just loaded my extra beer fridge in the RV over the weekend. Set @ 29 degrees. I'm ready to roll.

4-wide salute to the fans! Yeah baby!

We're leaving two weeks early again so I'll get started stocking up the RV in a couple of weeks. Anybody that don't think that it's an exceptionally good race needs to get their ass over there and get dirty.

For those of you thinking about going to this race. I just looked. There are still tickets. As far as camping goes..... Lot's #1 (Preferred lot of Johali & DP), #2 & #3 are sold out. 2 camping spots remain in Lot #4 and the Eldora Camping Village across the road has about 30 spots left. There is also camping available in what they call the Northside Camp & Park but I don't think they ever fill up. They do offer free camping spots a little further from the track. When I say further, it is not really all that far at all. If you are afraid of the walk but would like a shuttle service, you'll find Johali and I touring the campgrounds on my golf cart. I've got room to haul you and your favorite beverages to the track from the north side of the speedway.
