After a race, and engines are torn down, what pieces, if any, are re-used? Are the blocks and cylinder heads generally good for multiple races? Cams? Pistons?

It depends upon the team's budget. But in general the blocks and heads and external bolt-on equipment are reused several times... although after 2000 laps or so they may be relegated to test sessions and practices. If the cam still meets specs they'll reuse it, but realize there are different cams for different tracks so individual cams may not get used every race. High budget teams usually replace pistons every rebuild. Circle Track Magazine has had stories about this - might have some available on their web site.

The bearings and rings are defo replaced, probably also oil pumps and lubrication components also.... I don't know about the rest, and I could be wrong about oil stuff.

Isn't the oil pump now belt driven off the driveshaft at the rear of the car??

The engine has one , the rear pump that is driven by the driveshaft isnt new, going back to I think the 80's

Engine, driveline and braking components are all maintained to a strict aircraft quality standard ... by mileage.

Castings and rotating parts with time left on them are crack-tested before being re-used.
