NASCAR goes hybrid in 2017.

NASCAR offsets it with NASCAR green.

Wasn't this bogus report debunked here last year? I think we lost the discussion when the site crashed. Despite the tag line in the article, I recall the policy will explicitly appy to production cars on public roads, and exempts cars run on closed tracks.

Not entirely. And Congress is considering some motorsports protection act to prevent EPA overreach.

When Cows eat they release methane which makes it hotter too. Let us end livestock racing then too.

They apparently race cows in India.

Happily, the EPA has no authority there.

It's an election year. McHenry brought it up because auto racing is popular in his district.

This is politics.
You could be right.

But Imo of all the things to pander to, auto racing wouldnt bring a big audience. Esp with the amount of money racing events contribute to the local & state economies there I cant imagine any politician seriously trying to halt it.

That's why he's mentioning it. It's big in his district so he wants to make it look like he's fighting what some could perceive as EPA overreach. The fact that this story has already been debunked should tell you what's going on.

Where has it been debunked?

If we could only ban the EPA and California while we are at it.

^ I was very surprised to learn it was installed in the exhaust system.
