NASHVILLE TN (3-25-05) Erin Crocker, in her career-first ARCA RE/MAX Series attempt, won the Pork Pole Award Friday afternoon at Nashville Superspeedway for Saturday’s PFG Lester 150. Crocker, in the Evernham Motorsports Dodge, qualified with a speed of 164.602 mph.

“I wasn’t as comfortable today as I was in testing,” explained Erin Crocker. “Starting up front will be helpful and I’m in some very good company.”

In doing so, Crocker becomes only the third female driver in ARCA RE/MAX Series history to qualify for a pole position. Patty Moise won pole awards at Talladega twice in 1988 and again at Daytona in 1989. Shawna Robinson won the pole at Michigan in 2000.

Ken Weaver, in the 1-800-4-A-Phone Chevrolet, qualified second with a speed of 161.023 mph. “We were only able to complete four laps of practice,” stated Ken Weaver. “The team worked hard and it paid off.”

Five-time Nashville polesitter Frank Kimmel, in the Advance Auto Parts-Pork Ford, qualified third at 160.334 mph. Rookie Joey Miller, in the Country Joe Homes Dodge, was fourth at 160.318 mph. Chad Blount, in the Foretravel Motorhomes Chevrolet, was fifth at 160.125 mph.

The PFG Lester 150, which serves as the preamble to the same-day NASCAR Busch Series Pepsi 300, is LIVE on SPEED Channel Saturday at 1:30 pm eastern.

She sure did well today, considering this was her first ARCA race. She was the victim of the dreaded 'side draft aero' but didn't hit a dang thing and ended up 12th (I think).
Those guys better watch out!

somebody tagged her side and sent her into the infield, didn't hit the wall, but she couldn't make up the ground due to cautions. She was driving like a pro, the majority of the fans at the track were cheering for her and were all mad when she got tapped.

Ax, I don't believe she actually got tapped. If you watch the replays she got that side suck that turned her around. She did a great job keeping that thing from hitting anything. Just a rookie mistake, one that she wouldn't have a chance to experience until she drove these cars. All in all I thought it was a darn good first outing. She wasn't happy with it but she'll do better.

she had a nice big fat donut on the right side of her car, that's why I think she got tapped

She got the dount after she lost it. It was pretty clear on TV.

Well, I was at the track, didn't have a tv in front of me, I can only go on what I see.
