"Retired Winston Cup driver Ernie Irvan will field cars for rookie Kevin Conway in 15 NASCAR Busch Series races and select speedway races in the ARCA RE/MAX Series where Conway first drove for Irvan last season. An announcement will be made at Daytona giving more details about the partnership. In his first and only ARCA RE/MAX Series start to date, Conway qualified Irvan's Chevrolet in the 5th position at Atlanta Motor Speedway in 2002. The rookie was in contention for the win when a flat tire put him down the order to a 13th place finish."

Good Luck Ernie!

"Hearing that Lance Norick may join Carroll Racing as a second driver. Not sure if this would be for another team or he would split time in the #26 with Kevin Grubb. Norick, 34, has been racing in the Truck Series since 1996"

I hope this is not a split ride with Kevin, Kevin deserves a full season and a chance at a Championship!

"Wisconsin’s Tim Sauter is now a racing “free agent.” The middle of three racing Sauter brothers, Tim, is now searching for a new avenue in 2003 due to the fact that financial constraints have shut down the AP Performance Team after one year of NASCAR competition"

That was by far the best unsponsored car on the track, I wish they had been able to secure a sponsor. I hope Tim gets a good ride!

Thanks for the news Kel, great to know Ernie will be again involved in the sport he loves.
I wish Kevin Grubb a new ride soon. He has talent and I thought he got a raw deal.

Kevin has made a committment to Carroll racing for the 2003 season. I thought it was for the entire season but now that I have found this I am not so sure. That 26 is a good solid ride and I hope that he has it to himself and can show them what he's got!

Hank Parker Jr. is close to finalizing a deal with Roush Racing. Not sure if it is a full-time or part-time ride, but supposedly is with Roush's #9 BGN team.

This came from BGNracing.com but I dont know their source to back it up. I think it would be a real good move on Parker's part to go that route if in fact this is not rumor!

"Current television broadcasters Wally Dallenbach and Larry McReynolds may become NASCAR team owners in 2003. Sources report the duo is negotiating to create a team which will field BGN and Winston Cup entries at selected events this coming season with Dallenbach handling driving duties. Dallenbach drove in several BGN races last season while also working as a member of the NBC/TNT broadcast team. The former championship winning crew chief would assume similar duties for Dallenbach with the new team. Sources have told RacingOne the new entity is close to finalizing sponsorship details and that an official announcement could come in days. A BGN debut is expected to come in July at Daytona with a Winston Cup entry next August at Watkins Glen."

Can you imagine...it was bad enough when Wally was getting WAY more coverage than he deserved from NBC, if they were both involved both FOX and NBC would get carried away. We'd be lucky to see any good racing!

This has been in the rumormill since November.Originally, it was hoped that GNC would stay with Hank and go to Roush but they decided to get out of team sponsorship altogether. The #9 has points so that could be important during the first 4 races of this season. I haven't heard any confirmation of Hank's plans.
