I watched most of ESPN's coverage of the Busch race at Texas on Saturday and must say their announcing lineup was great. Marty Reid (subbing for Jerry Punch), Dale Jarrett (subbing for Rusty Wallace), and Andy Petree had good chemistry and made it for a good broadcast. I'd like to see this be the permanent lineup. I thought Rusty was going to be a great one, but he talks too much and too fast. He doesn't interact much with Petree. Punch is good and knows his stuff, but is a little ho-hum. If ESPN could talk Jarrett into retiring after this season, they should replace Wallace with Jarrett and replace Punch with Reid and move Punch and Wallace into the pre-race show role.

May not have to talk him into it once UPS pulls thier sponsership and MWR goes belly up!!!

Dale seems to be better at anchoring than driving huh?

I don't think anyone in a sane state of mind would question Jarret's ability to drive a stock car :) but I'd rather listen to him anyday rather than Wallace.

I'm a diehard Rusty fan, but I have to say that he is pretty boring in the booth. There is no excitement in his voice.
